Isabelle's POV  *Flash back* One and a half years ago

I walked through a plain covered in a thin sheet of snow and silence for miles.

I was on an island which was on the outskirts of the kingdom of Idzora's shores yet belonged to Zallin.

When out of nowhere I heard cries for help and the smoke.

Behind a copse of trees was a near invisible house, which I would have never known was there, if it hadn't been for the voice and the smoke rising.

Too much smoke.

My eyes stung, it brought bad memories.

I inhaled deeply, and exhaled slowly, pulling myself together, Now wasn't the time for some panic attack.

I sprinted for it, crossing the snowy ground then weaving through the thin barrier of trees, before finally making it to the house.

My suspicions were confirmed, it was on fire and someone was trapped inside.

Looking frantically around for anything that might help I saw a well filled to the brim, and I rushed over, taking an old bucket that was next to the well I filled it with water and dumped it over my head.

Repeating this process once more before pulling out a spare shirt, and dunked it in the water before using it to cover my nose and mouth.

I ran over to the cottage and rammed down the door, before moving in, fire consumed anything and everything it could reach with its flickering flames.

I searched around, and hearing the voice which was now hacking was coming from the second floor, and I darted up the stairs.

I looked around the flaming inferno, to see one doorway, which was blocked by a several pieces of flaming wood.

My eyes locked on it.

In the name of the moon goddess Lunarix,

this was going to hurt.

I pushed away the fire brands, with my gloved hands, which quickly caught fire and hurried to thrown them off, like I expected, I wasn't fast enough and burnt myself anyway, despite my efforts.

I cut off a shriek, and instead replaced it with an angry hiss of pain, while clenching my teeth.

I leaped through the doorway ignoring as best I could the pain, and heat, and the fact that my clothes were nearly completely dry, like tinder.

And I saw her, a kid who looked about ten-ish, cornered and scared.

I narrowed my eyes trying to keep the ash away as they gathered on my lashes.

I rushed over to her, she looked up at me scared, ''Don't worry, I'll get you out'' I told her over the roaring of the raging fire. ''Okay?''

She nodded and I took her hand, and pulled her up, ''Now, you need to do exactly as i say'' i said, once more she nodded, and I looked around.

''Come on, give me an opening, give me an opening'' I mumbled under my breath, looking hard for a way out without to much burning.

There!

I distinguished a way out.

I pulled her closer to me and ran, tugging her along with me, we leaped over flames and dodged the falling debris. We made our way out of the room, but the stairs were...

Unavailable.

I frantically searched for another escape route. A window!

Not again...

We went over to the window,  feet barely seemed to touch the ground, I tried to open the window. But seeing it stuck, I backed up a bit, clutched the kid to me, and side-kicked down the window, glass shattering, and wood flying.

My brain seemed to keep repeating in a chant 'Not again, not again, NOT AGAIN!' but I ignored it, now or never, literally, since the building seemed to begin to collapse.

Always at the last moment.

Let's do this, I thought.

And jumped.

The drop wasn't to bad as it wasn't very far, but the landing was a different story, as i had to make sure the kid was fine.

I quickly twisted my body in the few seconds I had, and I landed on my feet, bending my knees to reduce the impact.

Wasn't to bad, but my legs would probably want to kill me if they could.

But then I caught the kid.

I'd barely landed, when I caught her bridal style, but the extra impact made my knees buckle, and at the same time I slipped on a random patch of thin ice.

I fell backwards on and landed painfully on my back.

''Oww'' I groaned pushing the kid off from on top of me.

''You Okay?--'' I mumbled concerned before breaking off coughing, i was quickly joined but the only other person visible, my throat hurt from the use of talking.

After a few moments she nodded weakly.

I pulled us both farther away from the burning building, and give her a smile and coughed more.
