NOT Male Mikasa up ahead \o/
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀❁࿐✶⋆
You briskly walked down the hall as the sounds of your brown leather boots echoed behind you. At this time, other soldiers were precipitous by duties and chores, so no one was around. As you walked down the corridor, you passed by some of your teammate's bedrooms, each door closed and identical. If you were still a measly cadet and was on an errand, you'd surely get mixed up from the similarity of the doors.
But there was one door that you wanted to go to specifically, and one that you couldn't possibly forget. You wanted to personally talk to the accommodator.
Mikasa Ackerman.
She placed first in the whole graduating 104th Trainee Squad. Excelled in everything, which greatly attracted you to her.
Lovingly? Or just plain respect?
These types of feelings always troubled you, not knowing if you've fallen for someone or not. You decided that it was best to ignore these feelings because you knew that it would soon affect the relationship you had with her if you were to dawn on it for a long time.
She was one of your great friends - always so protective, kind (if you didn't push her buttons), and gave you a different perspective on life. What you liked most about her was how she was so concerned for her friends' safety and well-being, something that many people seem to forget when they're in a life or death situation. It really made you feel like someone cared about you in such a cruel world.
For some reason, however, she was acting so distant recently - especially to you - and you didn't know why. Sure, between you and her, you didn't share everything, but you knew that something would be bothering her just by one look at her face. The way her eyes resembled thunder clouds every time you saw her, and the way she would speak quieter than usual, it really did worry you... Of course, you didn't dare to interfere with her personal life.
But this time, you would try.
As you finally reached her closed bedroom door, you took a deep breath before raising your fist and knocked against the wood softly. Your heart was beating fast, and you knew it was in anxiety and slight fear. You stood there nervously for her reply, knowing that you and her haven't talked for quite a while.
She's been acting so distant...is it something I did?
A few minutes passed, and you decided that she probably wasn't in her room. After all, it was midday, so it was likely that she was either training or doing some chores like the rest were. You were about to turn on your heel and leave, giving up on your small interrogation, but the sound of the door opening behind you brought your instincts out and you turned back around.
The sight before you made you tremble.
There she stood, Mikasa Ackerman, the woman you'd come to love and care for. But, she wasn't how she usually looked. Oh dear god, she was way different.
Her raven black hair was messed up, ruffled, and sticking out in all directions. Her sharp grey eyes instead drooped with sleep deprivation and exhaustion, her white shirt messy with wrinkles and stains, and her normal white uniform jeans were ripped. She slightly sniffed, as if she had been crying the last 30 minutes or so, and she blinked continuously as if she had to clear her eyes from the salted tears just to see you clearly.
Holy shit... did she just get run over by a titan or something?!
"Mikasa! What happened...?" you asked, your eyes widened worryingly. You noticed the tear stains that went from her eyes to the rim of her jawline, but they were unnoticeable for someone shorter than Mikasa like the Corporal to notice.
