"(L/n)."
A voice piped up from behind you as you jumped off your steed, returning from a relaxing ride in the forest with it. Since the capture of Annie Leonhardt had worn you and everyone else out in the Scouting Legion for the past month, you decided to try get all these confusing and battling thoughts off your mind by riding your horse through the training forest for a while. It served as a break, since all to really wanted right now was to enjoy life before it may end soon.
Turning around, you saw the Corporal Levi with his usual stoic, deadpanned expression, and short figure. Despite being a bit surprised at his sudden appearance without you noticing, you quickly saluted and answered with a strong and proper "Yes, sir?"
"The Commander wants you to help him with paperwork tonight. I would have done it myself, but since you brats have been taking breaks, it's time for you all to start working your asses off like usual."
You lowered your salute, a bit confused as to why the Commander wanted you to help him with paperwork tonight. Even though it seemed like punishment, you forced yourself to accept, even though you really didn't have a choice. Any order from the Commander made you instinctively oblige to them. Either if it was cleaning or fixing the Scouts' gear - you didn't care. Any order from the Commander or the Corporal was like a rule for you.
"Oh, alright. Thank you."
With that, he walked away, leaving you in the stables to clean up after your horse and put him back in its stable. You pet him one last time before fixing up yourself, straightening out your attire that was free from those uncomfortable leather straps that would tie up your body like a spider that caught its next meal. After doing all of that, you headed over to the Mess Hall for a quick lunch.
-------
You took your leave from the Mess Hall, biding your friends goodbye, and headed off to your bedroom. Exhaustion began to wave over your body, and the darkness of sleep began to embrace you. However, some sort of figure in your head reminded you of your duties, and you suddenly remembered that the Commander wanted you in his office for some assistance with paperwork. Your shot your eyes open wide open, seeing that it was already nightfall from the window that held the landscape of the cities trapped behind the colossal walls of Rose. You quickly sat up from your bed and straightened your uniform out, making yourself look decent for the Commander, since you'd look improper if you were to show up looking as if you just woken up, despite the fact that the event was going to happen anyways.
You made your bed before walking quickly out of your room and down the hall to the his office, hoping that you weren't late. It was about an hour after sundown, and the night sky began to deepen its mysterious and void colors of indigo and black. You hoped that you weren't going to get cruel punishment from your superiorest-superior.
No, he's not technically like Levi, but I can imagine him giving harsh punishment, like revising all the maneuvering gear by myself, or reorganizing his office, you shuddered at the thought before you reached his door.
You took a deep and sharp breath before raising your hand shakily and knocking on his door. A small drop of sweat trickled down your temple, and you quickly wiped it away as you heard a male voice echoing through the door.
"Come in." the voice stated on the other side, which you easily recognized as the Commander's. You nervously turned the cold, metal knob, opening the door that revealed him sitting behind his desk with a stack load of papers beside him, as he wrote with a quill dipped in Fine Sina Ink. His office was fairly neat, and there was a couch by the open window, revealing the dark night, coated with bright stars and the circular shape of the lonesome moon.
