As the last breath of another comrade had occurred just before your teary eyes, you mentally scolded yourself to keep them in as you stood back up, quickly regaining your posture as you scanned the forest grounds-

Titans, bloodshed, cries, soldiers dying, the feeling of emptiness and sorrow-

This was the life you led. Continuously witnessing the death of your friends right before you. And the worse part was, was that you knew that you couldn't stop them from this inevitable death. Death was inevitable in general, and sadly, some people couldn't accept that.

Looking back at your comrade's lifeless body, you knew that it was worthless to shed tears for the fallen. Crying wouldn't bring back the dead, so what's the point?

Your whole squad had just been wiped out by a wave of about 4 titans - 3 classes ranging in at about 5-10 meters and the other at about 15 meters. It was just a quiet, normal run through the forest, until someone heard the heart-stopping vibrations of those damned demons, and screamed out in horror.

You thought of going back to the Wall, but you didn't want to leave your comrades here. Their deaths wouldn't have sparked a change, or even mean something - so you ran, ran for your life at those damned monsters that made living a hell for everyone that ever existed in this cruel world.

Adrenaline took over your body, your mind and soul clouded with grief as you began to draw your blades before letting out a battle cry that threatened to choke out a tear. But your will had overpowered you, and you realized that you have been caught in the grasp of Death.

If this is the end...

You looked up at those hungry, bloodlust-filled eyes in horror, knowing that you're demise would have come any sooner. You would rather die a soldier than a coward, so if this was the end-

Then so be it.

You braced yourself for the overwhelming void of Death, but before you could feel his wrath, a voice called out to you, filled with pain and sorrow, yet you didn't dare look back, as you knew who's voice it was.

"(Y/n), don't give up."

But what's the point? I've given up, and this was how I'd die. Simple as that.

"But I love you... please, don't leave me."

At those heart-shattering words, you had finally gathered up what little remaining energy you had left, and looked back in your current state, the grasp on your body tightening as your eyes went wide to see the person who you'd be leaving.

"Levi, I'm sorry-" you managed to stammer out, his body radiating an halo-like aura around him.

"Don't go. You promise that we would be together - forever - yet you're leaving me?" His voice whispered softly in your ear, not a single sound could be heard except for his feathered words. His voice was like an angel that was sent down from heaven. Unfortunately, he didn't come to save you.

Tears brimmed and streamed down your dirtied face as you grit your teeth, the pain overwhelming your whole body, and the emotional stir that began brewing in your heart and mind.

"You're leaving me. Please don't go."

You couldn't go on any further, as you could finally feel no more pain - no suffering, no sorrow. This was the end, and you were overwhelmed by the void that had grasped your tattered soul, Death finally consuming you.

"You promised..."

You shot up straight from your bed in the cold darkness, panting heavily as swear drenched your beds sheets, along with your sleepwear. The tear stains streams down your soft cheeks, the warm liquid not adding any help to how much sweat you've produced. The night sky flashed the moon that shone light into your void-filed room, the light seeping through the laced curtains.
