Chapter 4

FLASHBACK

"Guy come on stand still" I laughed. It was the first day of summer holidays and the guys and I were on the beach. I was trying to take a picture of them all but they wouldn't stand still.

"But Brie, come on you have to be in the picture to. We never get pics done with you." Chuck pleaded.

"Ya girl come on" David yelped as Pierre tackled him into the sand.

"How about no. I hate being in pictures and you all know that. Now stand still"

"NO" The guys all said at once as they continued to push and shove one another.

Just then Seb jumped from behind me dragged me towards the rest of the group. "Hey mister can you take a picture of all of us please?" he asked a passing gentleman.

The man nodded as Seb threw him my camera he had grabbed from me. I was in the sand being held down by the group, kicking and laughing. Finally I was let up, surrendering, allowing my picture to be taken. As the guy took the picture, Pierre who was standing right beside me, turned and licked my cheek.

The next day when I got the film developed I laughed at the picture. David, Jeff, and Chuck, were making stupid faces, Pierre was licking my cheek. Myself I looked like a deer caught in the head lights, with my eyes wide and a look of shock on my face. The person that I noticed first though was Seb, he was looking right at Pierre and I with a look of 'WTF' on his face. I had a copy made for each of the guys. That was June, by the end of August, they were gone and I hadn't seen them since.

END FLASHBACK

"You guys still have those photos?"

"Hell yeah. You still have yours?"

"Nope. Ripped it up the night of my graduation. You know that night you guys promised you wouldn't miss" I said giving him a look of pure hatred.

"Look I'm sorry. We didn't mean to miss it. We wanted to be there, but the touring schedule got hectic. We had no choice."

"Oh so that also gave you an excuse to not even call or write to say you couldn't make it, or even congratulate me. You know I had to find out what you guys were up to because you never called or wrote. I had to read it on the net or in a magazine. People who didn't even know you guys, knew more shit then me and my brother is in the band!"

"Brianne, I understand how you're feeling."

"No David you don't. You don't understand at all." The tears I had been fighting to keep in were once again falling gently and rapidly down my face.

"Ok so I don't understand how you feel. What we did was stupid, and I know saying sorry doesn't help because it's to late for that, but at least I can say it and mean it."

I sat down on the curb and started to sob.

"David you don't understand how bad you guys hurt me, and how bad my OWN brother hurt me. He promised to come to my graduation. The one day I needed him. You don't get it, my parents didn't even show up. I looked like a fool having reserved ten seats and only having 2 people show up. I was valedictorian. It took all I had to walk up on that stage and do my speech without crying. Everyone was talking. It was that day that I decided to forget about you guys. I moved three days later here, and never told anyone who my brother was."

There was a moment of silence as I knew David was trying to comprehend what I had said. He sat down beside me.

"I'm so sorry we let you down."

I looked over and saw him staring at the cement. I knew he was sorry but it didn't make the anger and pain go away.

MEANWHILE INSIDE THE ARENA

The guys were grabbing their stuff from the dressing room before they headed out to the bus.

"So are we going out for a few drinks with the other bands or are we driving straight home?" Asked Jeff as he grabbed a few guitars.

"Drinks. We won't see them for a couple of months, now that the tour is done. Plus I could really use a drink ha ha." Pierre replied.

"Ya same here. Let's go find David and go." Chuck said closing the case to a drum piece.

The boys continued to talk as they made their way down the hall towards the outside doors. This had been their last concert for the next four months. Tomorrow they were heading back to Quebec for Christmas, and a well deserved break. Seb was walking ahead of the group not saying a word, he heard David laughing with some female but almost took no notice. Opening the door slowly, he stopped dead in his tracks.

"SEB!" Pierre shrieked running into him. However all was quite until.

"Brianne?"
