The following morning, I wake up feeling good for some reason even though yesterday was a sad day for me, as Jungkook once said: "I can't just say 'cheer up no matter what, but in the midst of that difficulty, try to find that small happiness."

I get out of my bed and I take a glance at my phone and see a message notification from my work's group chat.

I laughed at Andrey's comment. I never knew he had it in him.

I throw my phone on my phone and I go into the bathroom to shower. A while later, I exit the bathroom and dress up in casual but classy attire, then curiously I take a quick look at the group chat and lo and behold there are numerous messages. And because the notification sound is irritating me, I put it on mute.

Ah. Much better.

I reached my workplace later than usual because by mistake, I got carried away reading this thriller book, and I was getting to the good part but I looked at the time and realised I should have left already.

I enter the department and see Kianna walking back and forth around my chair whilst looking at her watch. She looks up when she sees me walking towards her, with an angry expression plastered on her face.

Oops.

"Hey." I drop my bag on the chair.

"What's going on? I'm not late for the meeting, am I?"She lets out a sigh and links my arm urging me to move along with her.

"Elena, you are not late!" I stop and turn to face her. This woman really made me feel scared for a second.

"Thanks a lot, Kia." I walk on forward, she giggles and manages to catch up with me.

"Sorry, girl. But on a serious note though, Mr Ashton expects his employees to be present twenty minutes early to the meeting room."

I roll my eyes. Of course, typical Alexander.

Kianna and I enter the meeting room, surprisingly to me there's nearly all of the editorial department sat in their seats. Kianna spots her friends waving at her and coincidentally we see a couple of seats at the back.

"Goodmorning, Kia!" A woman grins at her, then she notices me.

"Oh hi, there. You must be...." She trails off waiting for me to speak.

"I'm Elena. Nice to meet you."

"Glad to meet you too, I'm Catharina but all my friends call me Rina." I nod in understanding.

She points at another woman beside her, who seems to be deeply engrossed in a Youtube video.

"This is Rosália!" She barely glances at me but she just raises her hand in acknowledgement and goes back to her phone.

It's almost the start of the meeting and we are already talking then Catharina and I end up exchanging phone numbers. Then, the room turns deadly still, even Rosália has put her phone away.

Alexander enters the room along with his assistant Andrei. He sits down and without any introduction or anything he gets straight to the point and tells us that there is an upcoming fashion and style magazine and the editorial department will be involved. Then, he looks at Andrei and he gives him a sheet of paper, which he starts to read out. From the paper that has been given to him, Alexander proceeds to say that there will be some changes to the treatment of employees, amongst other things.

All of a sudden, he pauses what he's doing and looks towards my way.

Oh no. This can't be good.

"Miss Halguera, is this meeting boring you?" He taps his finger and his face clearly shows anger. I look at Rosalia who appears to be sleeping profoundly which must be why he repeats her name although this time, louder.

"Miss Halguera!" At that, she wakes up, startled and looking confused until her eyes fall upon Alexander. He goes back to what he is saying though this time he changes the topic to any suggestions the department could do to the magazine.

A notification pops up on my phone and I look at it, thinking it could be my Aunty texting me, instead it's someone else.

***Sebastian's POV ***

I push my friend to the side and look at my phone.

Mierda. She has seen it already. I glance at my friend who is rolling around the couch and laughing in hysteria.

"Antônio, why on earth would you do that?" I groan.

"I'm just helping you, relax man. When was the last time you texted her?"He states, still laughing.

"I'm just giving her space, Antônio."

***Elena's POV***

I flip the phone over and somehow Alexander catches me in the act. He looks at me intensely for a minute before he announces to everyone that the meeting is over.

Kianna pokes me on the shoulder.

"What the hell was that?" I shrug.

I wish I could tell you but I honestly don't know, I think to myself.

Just as I am about to approach the door, Alexander calls my name and Rosalia's, so we both share a knowing look and Andrey leaves, but gives me a sympathising look before exiting the room.

"Miss Halguera. You already know what I'm going to say, right? He says, this time his voice is calmer than earlier.

"I'm sorry, Mr Ashton. I promise it won't happen again."She says.

"This better be the last time you act like this, Miss Halguera." He snapped at her and he then motioned her to leave the room.

"Again, Elena?"His voice clearly showing a sign of frustration.

"I apologise, Mr Ashton." He tells me to leave the room and just as I exit the place, he says something else.

"Who was it?" I halt my steps and turn around to face him. He looks at the confused expression on my face and explains in more detail.

"Was it your boyfriend?" He smirks.

I laughed, and my demeanour changed quickly to a frown.

"Grow up, Alex." I declare. And I walk out of the room, feeling furious.

I take my phone out to call Sebastian, just to take things off my mind. Unexpectedly, he answers after the first ring.

"Hey!"

"Hi, Elena,"

"So, erm I saw the text..."

"Yeah, um... about that my friend texted that not me."

"Oh."I am lost for words right now.

"I do find you beautiful though." I cover my face in timidity.

We talk for some minutes and then I hang up the call. I dance happily before recollecting myself and I walk back to the editorial department.
