I come into work, feeling determined to apologise to Kianna and I didn't want anybody to interrupt whatsoever. I walk straight towards her but I hear Alex's assistant calling my name.I turn my face and put on the brightest smile, hoping that it doesn't look forced.

"Sorry, Elena but Mr Ashton wants you in his office now."I let out a sigh, feeling irritated already.

"Let's get this over and done with then, "I mutter under my breath, before opening the door and I enter inside.

"You asked for me, Sir?"

"Ah, yes. There seems to be a misunderstanding. I scrunch my face in confusion.

Would this man just get straight to the point?

Alex clears his throat and point at a guy, standing few metres apart from me.

This is weird. Isn't this Nikki's friend? The same guy who waved at me (out of nowhere) yesterday?

"Mr Ashton, if I may ask what is he doing here?"

"Mr Paulsen, would you mind explaining to Elena please?"I turn my attention to Jakob, then he starts to explain that even though he is friends with her, it did not automatically mean that he will stand by this and watch.

Based on what he is saying, he appears to be a nice guy and all but I don't trust him quite yet.

As Jakob begins to explain more in detail and all of a sudden he says that Nikkie told him, personally, that she herself caused the pitch presentation accident. I mean, it is not like it's surprising to me as I already knew it was all her all along. Then, he goes on to show proof by that statement through messages and voice recordings. I am trying not to seem disinterested because he keeps talking on and on until I hear him say that he wants to apologise on her behalf.

You never see something ooo.

I nearly laughed out loud, luckily  Alex nor Jakob noticed.

With that, Alex carries on to speak again about Nikki being on disciplinary action, plus the fact that she will not go to work for the time being because the issue is being looked into by a representative from management. He dismisses both of us, at last, I'm free and able to leave the room however I cannot say the same for my feet as they are aching as heck.

I spot Kianna by the printers so I walk over to her.

"Hey."

She turns to me, smiling.

"Hi, Elena!"

"I wanted to say I'm sorry for lashing  out at you."

"Oh no, it's okay. It was no biggie."

"No, really. I know what I did was wrong and I take full responsibility for my actions."I declare with honesty. She looks at me and turns away for a second to take out what she printed and turns back to me.

"Well, I appreciate you for apologising so I forgive you."

We talk some more and end up having lunch together at a cafe near Sebastián's Eatery and that is when I think about the first time that we met. This reminds me of the question that he asked me yesterday, maybe I should take him up on that offer.

After a long day of walking around and sitting down in a chair, I realise that it is half six. I go inside the house and feel desolated for some reason.

Ah. Alessia went to a sleepover and she will come back tomorrow.

I miss her already.

Just as I am about to do my usual night routine, a notification pops up on my phone so I take a glance at it, I stop what I'm doing.

That night I ended up crying for a very long time from remembering my father.
