I know that it's Thursday but since I had missed the update previously, I thought it'd be nice to update today! COPPER BOOM! ❀
Dinner that evening was barely dinner. Cedric wasn't eating dinner and Chantal was doing everything in her power to help him. Nevertheless, she only managed to feed him a little bit. No one at the Slytherin table was giving Chantal looks as everyone was preoccupied with either cheering for them or bullying Harry Potter. Sadly, none of those things brought Cedric a smile. He felt more miserable than before the Second Task. Besides all that, it was a hot day.
''When does your dad arrive?''
''He should be here soon, maybe already is,''
That was all that Cedric had said in a while. After that, Chantal managed to give him another slice of apple.
''I can't have you look and feel this bad. What can I do?'' Chantal asked, worryingly.
''I know you feel like there's something you can do, Chan... but there's nothing. I don't know. My stomach feels weird. My head, thankfully, doesn't hurt, but I just feel this horrible feeling. I can't explain it...'' Cedric replied and looked at the Ravenclaw table. He had done so several times.
''I understand... everything will be over. Imagine, tomorrow, you'll be lying on the warm grass, bathing in the sunshine. I'll be there and we'll just think about nothing. We can even take one of those amazing baths in the Prefects' Bathroom. What do you say?''
''Bath only if I win,''
''Oh, then you'll stay dirty?''
''Well-''
''Kiss me,''
And Cedric did. Chantal felt happy, tasting the apple on his lips. She pulled away, smiling and looking at him.
''If I win, then, let's take the bath, go to Hogsmeade, we can go to the cafe and everything, okay?'' Cedric said.
''Ced, in my eyes - you're always the winner,'' Chantal replied.
''All right, well, I want to finish my dinner!''
''You will?''
''I'll change my mind- well, my stomach will if I think about it too much,'' Cedric laughed.
Chantal watched him eat in pleasure, also eating some breakfast. Before Cedric had finished his glass of juice, he turned his head to the Ravenclaw table yet again.
''I'll be only a minute,''
Chantal hummed back and continued eating. Cedric stood up and walked up to the Ravenclaw table. He nodded his head at Nathaniel and seconds later the two were heading outside the oak doors. Chantal continued to eat, watching them leave.
Although Cedric had joked about the specific minute, it was beginning to worry Chantal that the boys had disappeared for almost fifteen minutes. However, she continued to enjoy her food, looking around the Great Hall.
They returned, seemingly both content. Chantal wanted to ask what had taken them so long and barge Cedric with questions but as Cedric seemed happier than before, she let it be.
"Ladies and gentlemen, in five minutes' time, I will be asking you to make your way down to the Quidditch field for the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament. Will the champions please follow Mr. Bagman down to the stadium now," Dumbledore spoke.
Chantal gasped and Cedric looked at him.
''Ready?'' Chantal asked, looking at him.
''Ready as I'll ever be,'' Cedric quietly said and faced her.
