Dear Chantal,
What's it like being a seventh-year? I heard from Nell that Snape's the DADA teacher and that Professor Slughorn has taken the job as the Potions teacher. I hope they're both treating you well. I'm glad you decided to study Potions again. I wish I could study in the Library with you.
Auror training is kicking my ass in a way. I used to think I was one of the best students at Hogwarts. You'd say I was, wouldn't you? I suppose out here I feel like I'm not that anymore. I'll keep trying and then when we'll see each other soon again, I'll be one hell of an Auror.
I hope you all feel well at Hogwarts. I've been thinking a lot about you all, and about Ernest. Give Nell a smile from me too. I know she misses not seeing me even though she wouldn't admit it. I also miss the DA club... that was one hell of a ride.
Stay safe out there,
Nathaniel
Chantal had read the letter from Nathaniel in the morning, receiving it at breakfast. She didn't read it in front of the others, of course.
''First letter from him, huh?'' Gerald asked teasingly.
''Yeah,'' Chantal smiled, putting it next to her on the bench.
Nell happened to be nearby as well and smirked.
''He hasn't written to me yet, you know...'' she said.
