Soon after Avery and Jacqueline got ready for the party and walked downstairs. Avery's heart started pounding faster and she couldn't take her eyes off Remus. She walked up to him.
''I like your shirt... wow,'' she said, observing Remus' floral shirt, somewhat too big for him. He was fidgeting with the suspenders that were attached to his pants.
''Thank you. Decided to go for a more colorful one,'' Remus smiled back.
''All right, everyone's ready?'' Sirius asked, looking around.
His eyes wandered around and stayed on Ben as the boy was still doing the buttons on his shirt.
''Don't need to do all the buttons, Ben,'' Sirius said, grinning.
''Oh, you'd like for me to go without a shirt?'' Ben laughed back, sensing Sirius' playfulness.
Sirius turned around, not before making a grimace. He hid the small smile on his face with his hand, gesturing for everyone to leave the Gryffindor Common Room.
Valerie and the other girls Avery and Billie had met on the Grand Staircase immediately greeted Avery when they arrived.
''Where's Billie?'' one of the girls asked, looking around as they entered.
''She's still coming. Had a small malfunction,'' Avery replied, smiling.
''Poor thing. Maybe we can help?''
''No, no,'' Avery shook her head, tugging at Ben's sleeve secretly.
''We'll get going inside,'' Ben immediately said and nodded.
The group walked deeper inside the classroom that lacked air already. Avery suggested finding Billie as soon as possible. She even shook her head when James offered her a drink.
''I think I ought to talk to her,'' Avery continued. ''I know it's not my fault but I've got to... just sort it out.''
''Do you want us to find her?'' James offered but Sirius nudged him.
''What do you mean?''
''You some sort of stalkers?'' Ben asked, looking at Sirius.
''Not all of us,'' Sirius replied, looking directly at Ben.
James wandered off, noticing Lily and her friends.
''How are we going to find Billie?'' Peter asked. ''maybe she's somewhere here...''
''I don't think so. I would have noticed,'' Avery replied and shrugged.
''I haven't noticed her either,'' Ben replied, trying to concentrate.
Sirius ruffled up his hair, sighing, and walked up closer to Ben.
''You two really want to find her?'' he asked.
