Faye's POV
After what seemed a lifetime, I finally finish up my paperwork and crash onto my couch. The lights in the city fill the skyline. I can and never will get used to it. Maybe I should come back to the tower. But then again, my whole life is in Rhode Island. My normal job, normal life... But it didn't excite me as much as my family did. Kris, Griffin, Sam, and Grace completed me. Despite the rest of my family banishing me or whatever, they stuck by my side. I've always known that I could count on them for anything and everything. Now, here we are, being the top assassin team in all history. Funny, right?
But it's not just them that makes me whole. Tony, Nat, and Clint were there for me when they couldn't. Now, I get to add Bucky, Rhodey, Wilson, and Steve. I think they were truly the missing pieces of me. I have never felt whole before. I'm driven out of my thoughts when my phone buzzes.
"Bar hopping tonight? Girls night? What do you say? ;) -Kris"
I laugh and reply back.
"Sure, girls only tho. I need a night away from the guys. :)"
"Sure can do. Be ready by 8:00! -Kris"
I check the clock and notice that it's 6:30. Well, at least I'm still semi-put together. I take one last look at the city and smile.
"FRIDAY turn off everything after I leave, please," I ask.
"Yes Miss Faye," she replies.
As the elevator doors open, I'm met with a set of beautiful blue eyes. I can't help but smile at the sight of Steve standing in front of me. I guess the same goes for him.
"Hey, beautiful. I was wondering when you would finish," he says as he opens his arms to engulf me. I take a deep breath and smell the cologne on him.
Oh. My. God. I'm weak in the knees right now.
I look up to him and smile. "Well, Captain, our evening is going to be cut short because it's girls night," I tell him. He makes a pouty face and I laugh at his reaction.
"Oh come on! First, you leave me at a bar. Second, I find out you're the Lieutenant Commander. Third, you take a bullet for me," he goes on before I cut him off.
"Fourth, I need a night out to feel like a woman again." I say with a chuckle. "It might be one of my last few nights as a single woman, and my gut is never wrong."
"Oh, is that so? Who's the potential guy?" He asks with sarcasm.
"Sorry. Can't disclose that information to just anybody," I say with a sultry voice while going on my tippy toes to whisper in his ear. He grabs my waist and spins me, then carries me and gently pushes me into the glass windows of the elevator.
"FRIDAY, take me to the residence level please," I ask, which she then does.
"You know, I'm much stronger than you, LC. I could keep you in my arms all night and never let you go," he says as he closes the space between our faces.
"Yeah, you could, but that's no fun, Cap," I say with a slight emphasis on Cap. I can tell that gets him worked up by the way he grips my thighs a little harder. I run my hands through his hair and he slowly puts me down. The elevator doors open and I start walking out. I turn around and look at Steve "see you soon, Cap," with a wink. I walk with an added strut to my hips and make my way to my room to get ready.
Once I enter my room, I lean against my door and slowly fall to the floor.
This man knows me too well for only knowing me for 2 days.
I gather myself together and open up my closet. I decide on a white bodysuit that's low in the front, showing a little bit of cleavage. I grab my favorite ripped jeans and a leather jack. I decide to skip out on heels, you know, after last time, and stick with my old school vans. I put on minimal makeup and straighten my hair. I always love my straight hair, but straightening it even more made me feel like a bad bitch. I grab my phone and check the time: 7:30. Nat sends me a text message right as I open my phone.
"Pregame in the kitchen. We got your fav ;)"
Shit. They got tequila.
Oh, will this be a fun night. I look at myself one last time in the mirror before heading to the kitchen. I lay out my pajamas on my bed, probably because I know I'm going to be a little out of it tonight. I'm expecting Kris and Nat to go hard on me, saying "you got shot! so you have to take a shot!" I take one last deep breath and open the door and make my way to the kitchen.
To my surprise, the guys are there as well. But, Nat being Nat, yelled at them to leave our alcohol alone, along with leaving us alone. The girls cheer as I enter and I can't help but cheer with them. Kris brings my favorite bottle of tequila and dances over to me. They start blasting music and I can't help myself but start singing along. I can feel Steve's eyes on me. I just know the feeling. I finally make eye contact with him and looks at me with lust. I can't help but bite my lip as he does. He notices what I do and shifts himself into a less tense position.
Before I know it, Kris opens my mouth and pours a big shot of tequila straight from the bottle. I like to consider myself a great and fun drinker, so I don't fight back. After I take the shot, I see the guys drop their jaws to the floor. I can't help but laugh at the sight. It's quite funny, actually. Grace drags me to the kitchen and pours another round of shots. We all grab limes and I put some salt on my hand.
"To Faye! This shot is for you because you got shot!" Grace yells. I can't help but chuckle, and out of the corner of my eye, so do the guys. I lock my eyes on Steve and he does the same. I lick the salt off my hand, take the shot, and suck the lime while keeping our eyes together. He bites his lower lip and I can't help but send a wink to him. The guys start punching him and laughing, which then the girls finally notice what I did.
We take about 3 more shots and I was forced to shotgun a seltzer before we left.
"Oh, she can't do that!" yells Sam.
"Bro, don't say that to her. I fucking taught her and now she's better than me!" exclaims Griffin.
I walk towards the boys with the seltzer in my hand and face my palm up towards Griffin. He knows exactly what I want, which then he pulls his lanyard out of his pocket. I walk back to the sink and create a hole at the bottom of the can with a key. The guys, once again, turn white. I took a deep inhale and finished the seltzer within 5 seconds. Of course, I toss the can into the recycling bin and walk back to Griffin to return his keys.
"Sam, come on, you know I'm still your family. You should know better than to try me." I say. Steve doesn't even have to say anything because his face says it all. Before I walk away, he grabs me by the waist and pulls me into him. He's sitting on the arm rest of the couch and I, without hesitation, wrap my hands around his neck.
"Have fun tonight, but not too much fun," he says with a smile. "Come back home to me."
Home.
I can't help but smile and run my hands through his hair. Instead of kissing his cheek, I left him a small peck on his lips. Once he processed what was happening, he tightens his grip on my hips. When I separate myself from him, his face goes blank. Bucky literally has to smack his face to bring him back to reality.
"CAPSICLE GET YOUR HANDS OFF FAYE!" Tony yells as he enters the dining area. I can't help but laugh. I think the alcohol is starting to kick in. I turn to Tony and give him a smile. I run to him and give him a giant hug.
"I'll see you soon, Tony." I say, which he then grips onto me tighter.
"Alright, alright! Let's get going, LC!" Kris yells. "You two can get a room later." I laugh at her comment and run towards the elevator. I do a little wave goodbye to the boys before the doors closed.
"LC, are you falling for the Captain?!?!?" They all ask in unison. I look back at them with a smile.
"I already did."
Let the night begin.
