Tony's POV

I stop in my tracks when I hear Cap's broken voice. Sam and Griffin arrive back on the jet with white faces. I can't let them go through this again. We just got her.

"Cap? Where are you? Thor and I are coming to get you," I ask. Clint, Nat, Sam, Griffin, and Banner, who is not green, look at me when they hear the nervousness in my voice.

"We're on the 4th level. She's not waking up," he desperately says. I don't know how much bonding Cap and LC have had, but I know that they deeply care about each other... I can't lose her. I just got her. Thor and I fly back to the HYDRA base and find Steve carrying LC. I land first and put my hand over her.

"FRIDAY check vital signs," I say.

"Heart beat detected. No further injuries," she replies. I let out a huge sigh of relief.

She's okay. She's going to be okay. She has to be.

I grab LC and Cap holds onto Thor. We fly back to the jet and I lay her lifeless body on the table next to Clint. He turns towards her and reaches for her hand, weakly.

"Come on LC. We just got you back. Why do you keep putting your life on the line?" He says in attempt to get something out of her.

No response.

I climb out of my suit and into the pilot's seat with Nat being my co-pilot. This was probably the fastest takeoff I've had. I put the jet on auto pilot and tell FRIDAY to take the wheel. I walk in a fast pace to Faye.

"Has she moved or said anything yet, Cap?" I ask Steve. His eyes are locked on her, not moving one bit. He squeezes her hand expecting her to do the same. I see the tears flood his eyes.

Nothing.

"FRIDAY get the lab ready for us. I want every single thing we got ready," I say.

"Right away, Mr. Stark," she replies.

"Banner, Dr. Lewis is flying in from Seoul. Can she set up in your lab?" I say as I turn to Bruce. He's sitting towards the back of the jet covered with a blanket.

"Yeah, she knows her way around," he replies, distraught in this voice.

This was the quietest all of us have been together. Sam and Griffin go up to LC hoping to wake her up.

"LC, you gotta stop doing this to us. Stop scaring us like this," Sam chokes out. The tears on his face say more than enough.

"Yeah, what am I supposed to say to Kris and Grace? They're gonna kick my ass when they get back!" Griffin jokes. He looks at LC, trying to see a change in her face.

Nothing.

"Faye, I just got you. Literally, like 5 hours ago. Don't do this to me, please," I say to her.

Nothing.

We prepare to land and communicate back to the tower. I see the crash team is all ready to go. The back of the jet opens and the team rush in. Steve needs to move, but he won't leave her side. I walk up to him and remove him from her. Even I could feel that pain.

"Cap, we're gonna do every thing we can to figure out what's wrong with her. I don't care if it takes every dollar I have," I say with my hands on his shoulders. He looks into my eyes; I've never seen him so broken before. He doesn't reply back, and just nods in agreement. They wheel her away to the infirmary yet again. We trail behind them, not wanting to get too far away. Dr. Cho enters the room and does his own assessment on LC. I could tell that he's not going to give the news we want to hear.

"Tony, Cap. We need to stop meeting like this," he says as he reaches out to shake both of our hands.

"I couldn't agree more, Doc. How is our girl doing?" I hesitantly ask him. His face drops and I try to prepare myself for what he's going to say.

"I wish I had better news, Tony. Medically speaking, there's nothing wrong with her. From my understanding, a girl with powers struck her?" He asks.

"Yeah, we're uh, still trying to get more information," I reply.

"I'm sorry, Tony and Cap. I'm going to declare that LC is in a coma. I don't know when or if she's going to wake up. Sorcery isn't my speciality," he says.

I slightly chuckle, trying to ease the tension. I turn to Cap and see the tears running down his face. He excuses himself and leaves the floor.

"Thank you, Doc. We'll keep in touch." I say and shake his hand once more. I take the elevator to the dining area, where everyone is gathered. They all get up from their spots and turn to me.

"How is she?"

"Is she awake? Can we see her?"

"Tony, why aren't you saying anything?"

Everyone's voices fill my head. No wonder why Faye got mad at us last time when we bombarded her with questions. It's not a pleasant feeling. I take a deep breath, which then everyone knows the answer. Sam storms out of the room and Griffin follows him.

It's up to me and Banner to find out what's wrong with her. I don't know what to expect, but I try to brace myself for the unexpected. I need to do this, not just for me or for Cap, but for Faye.
