Faye's POV

We arrive to our location, 40 miles west of Los Angeles. It's the perfect place to keep a secret warehouse or whatever. There's nothing for miles on end. We all exit the jet with our ear pieces on. Tony does a fly by of the building, scoping for any civilians, guards, or bad guys. He lands next to us and projects a hologram of the building.

"Alright, LC. Standard tac team. There are 20 guards surrounding the main entrance. 5 floors, 5 guards on each floor with 2 people on the middle floor. There's your guy," he says as he grabs the hologram of LC's biological father. I tense at the sight of his figure. Despite not seeing his face, I know his figure very well. He used to beat the shit out of me for a living, but now, I get to do it to him. I observe each floor in detail trying to compose a plan.

Ding ding.

"We need to assume they have tesseract-like weapons. After all, the piece of shit that is my biological father is a mafia leader. Bucky, Rhodey, Wilson, and Banner, you're team 1. You guys blitz attack the guards surrounding the building. Clint, you're on the roof. Call out any and every move they make. I'm sure there are more guards waiting closely for backup. Tony, you have the perimeter. Nat, Thor, and Cap, team 2. While team 1 distracts the guards, run through and to the main entrance. Team 1, pressure's on. You gotta create a pathway for them. Team2, clear levels 1 and 2. Sam, Griffin, Kris, and Grace, team 3. Enter through the back and handle levels 4 and 5. I'll handle level 3. Son of a bitch is waiting for me." I say with my leader voice. "Watch each other's back. Do not underestimate the power of this man. We might be walking into a trap. Stay on your toes, stay liquid."

The teams position themselves into their designated spots. I see Cap running towards me and he grabs me by the waist. He plants a kiss on my lips, something we always do before running into battle.

"Come home to me," he replies.

"You are my home," I reply back and give him one last quick kiss. We run to our positions.

"On my mark, team 1 create a diversion. Good luck, guys. Make me proud," I say into the ear piece. "Tony, care to give me a lift?"

Tony lands next to me and opens the face part of his suit.

"No scaring me, kid," he says with a shaky voice. " I place my hand on his cheek.

"Not this time," I say. I take a deep breath and close my eyes.

Let's get it done.

"TEAM 1, MOVE OUT!" I yell. Tony grabs me by the waist and flies us to the third level. I roll onto the floor and signal him to leave.

It's quiet. A little too quiet.

I pull my gun out and turn the safety off. I walk around the floor and clear each room. I can hear the commotion going on outside and through my ear piece.

Everything will be okay.

I came across the last room, which coincidentally is locked. This is it. This is him. I kick the door and hold my gun up. It's an empty room but is well lit. I see a figure standing against the window and immediately know who it is.

"Took you long enough, darling," the figure says.

"Well, better late than never," I reply. I clear the room and point the gun towards him, maintaining some distance between us.

"What? No hug for your own father?" He says.

"No, Ted. My real father is outside fighting for me. You, you are a coward. You should be ashamed for even thinking I would ever call you my father." I say angrily.
