Falling for the Captain

Nothingness

Faye's POV

After a fast ride, Clint and I land the quinjet in the middle of the woods. We're about 2 miles out from the base because we didn't want to tip off their radars. The quinjet is loaded with all the toys and goodies, but in the tiny metal stick form Nat gave me the night I met Cap.

"Uh, so do you expect us to run there?" Bruce says as we all exit the jet. Nat, Tony, and I laugh. They have no idea what they're in for.

"Banner, have I ever made you take the long route?" Tony says, but even I know Tony has made Banner take the long way.

"Um, yes! Multiple times actually!" Banner says and we all laugh.

Nat takes one of the metal sticks and sends a wink my way. Clint follows her movement, obviously knowing what to do. They both run, then twist and spin and open their bikes. They flash away within seconds. Thor, Cap, Sam, Griffin, and Banner instantly turn white. Tony laughs and flies away.

"Don't wanna miss out on the party, kid!" Tony yells to me. I turn around and face the men.

Banner turns into the Hulk and runs towards the base.

"It's not always about stealth, boys. Sometimes, it's about speed." I say and turn one of the metal sticks, which then turns into Cap's bike. He looks at me with love and I instantly blush. Sam and Griffin each grab one, mimic Nat and Clint's movements, and ride into the forest towards the HYDRA base. Thor flies away with his hammer, leaving me and Cap alone.

"Alright Captain. I'll see you on the flip side," I say as I turn my dial, which transforms into a bike. He follows right behind me. What we didn't prepare ourselves for was the strength of the soldiers' weapons. Booms were heard and seen in the distance, but Cap and I were getting closer to them.

"Seems like Strucker has had a lot of free time," I say over the comms while shooting my gun with my right hand at soldiers.

"Hey, LC, so are you and Cap like a thing now?" asks Griffin over the comms. I make an upset face. He knows better than to ask something like this at a time like this.

"Griffin! Time and place man!" I yell.

"Oh come on! I can't be the only one who's thinking it too!" He exclaims back with heavier breathing. I hope he's doing fine. Suddenly, a group of soldiers with weapons and a tank approach me. I change the settings on my bike and put on self-destruct mode. Then, I head towards the crowd without hesitation. I jump off the bike and roll onto the ground and shoot some soldiers. I aim for the tank of the bike, which makes it explode.

"He's not wrong LC! Come on, enlighten us here," says Nat.

Cap pulls up right behind me, seeing the damage I did. He can't help but smirk at me.

"Yep, that's my girl right there," he says over the comms. I can't help but smile.

"It's a work in progress, guys. But, yes, we are a thing," I say as I hop onto the back of Cap's bike while holding onto to his waist.

God, even in times of danger this man makes me weak.

"Cap, if you break my daughter's heart, I'll kill you!" Tony says. I let out a huge smile when Tony says that. I can't help but laugh, but am soon cut enough when people start shooting from behind us. I tap Cap's shoulder and he knows exactly what I'm going to do. He releases his right hand from the bike, leaving an open space for me to climb sit in his lap and shoot the people behind us. I slide onto his lap and he puts his right hand on the bike again, engulfing me like a hug.

Or something else.

"I can't imagine ever doing that, Tony," he says while smirking at me. I begin to shoot at the soldiers behind us, not missing one and not wasting a bullet. A tank pulls in front of us and I already know what to do. Steve releases his right hand again from the bike and I slide off of his lap and roll onto the floor. He grabs the bike by its handles, does a flip, and throws it towards the tank. I aim for the gas tank on his bike, which explodes and destroys the tank, along with a handful of soldiers.

Wow, that was hot.

Cap turns back and faces me, seeing the look of lust in my eyes. He walks towards me and turns off both of our microphones.

"Keep it in your pants, LC," he says and kisses me. I can't help but laugh.

"You first, Cap." I say to him. Then, we both turn on our microphones.

"Alright people, drawbridge is down!" Tony yells. Thor flies next to me and Cap.

"We have an enhanced in the field. Male, fast, do not engage," Clint says.

The next thing I hear over the comms is a grunt.

"Clint's hit!" Nat says. My face goes white. I need to shake it off. My team can handle each other.

"He's in pretty bad shape," Nat says. Thor, Cap, and I look at each other.

"I'll take Barton back to the jet. Cap and LC, help Tony get the scepter," Thor says.

"Roger that," Cap says. Another tank and group of soldiers start heading in the direction of the 3 of us.

"Aww look guys. They're lining up for us!" I exclaim, knowing that this is going to be great.

"Well, they're excited," Cap says as he brings up his shield and Thor hits it, sending a blast of lightning their way. Thor flies away, leaving me and Cap alone.

"That'll never get old," I say with a slight blush.

Out of nowhere, Steve and I are hit with a blast. We end up far from each other, with his shield next to me. I grab it and throw it at the soldiers running towards us. It flies back to me, which I easily grab and knock out the closest solider to me with it. I start shooting at the soldiers with my gun and do a twist-spin to throw the shield one last time. It flies back to me and I do a flip to catch it. I turn around and see Steve in shock.

"Now that was amazing," he says.

"Close your mouth, Cap. You're drooling a bit," I say as I bring up my hand to his jaw, softly grazing it. We run towards the base and enter.

"Guys, Strucker is 2 floors above you," Tony says.

"Copy that. Find the scepter and bring it home, Tony," I say to him.

"Copy that, LC. FRIDAY, you heard the woman. Let's kick it up a notch," he says.

Cap and I run up the stairs and find Strucker. He's not exactly trying to hide.

"Barron Strucker: HYDRA's number 1 thug," Steve says. Something about this feels wrong. Why is he here by himself?

"Technically, I'm a thug for SHIELD," Strucker says.

"Technically, you're out of a job," Steve replies with a snark. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a girl with red powers aim for Steve.

"STEVE, MOVE!" I yell at him and push him out of the way. I get blasted down the stairs. The girl disappears faster than she appeared.

I see Steve throw his shield at Strucker and run down towards me.

"LC's hit! Second enhanced, female, she has powers. DO NOT ENGAGE!" He yells.

I turn to see Steve rushing towards me, but lose all consciousness before anything else comes to mind.

I think I'm dreaming. I'm sitting in a desk. It looks like I'm in third grade. I'm wearing my private school uniform.

"SON OF A BITCH!" I yell in the dream. Everyone's head in my dream turn towards me.

I can't be here. I can't relive this.

I'm trying so hard to wake up, but something isn't letting me wake up. I need to go back to Steve. I need to go home.

But how can I go home, when I'm stuck in nothingness?
