The real me

School was uneventful. I flirted with the twins, yes I know I am dating another guy but I need to stay in the game. I can't just stop flirting all of the sudden when no one knows I am dating someone! I have to stay popular! I also had to evade Stacey's questions about my apparent 'crush' and tell her he had a girlfriend, she obviously knew I was lying though because look at me! I AM every guys wet dream!

After school, I made my way to the park. I could barely contain my excitement at seeing Max again! I highly doubt it's anything more than a small crush but I couldn't help the feelings bubbling up inside me.

He was on the swing in his average perfection smiling gently. I walked over and joined him, stupidly feeling a little nervous. 

'Hey' his deep resounding voice surrounded me like melted chocolate. He wasn't even exceptionally sexy and yet for some reason I was drawn to him. He was just kinda cute, in a boyish way.

Max was looking at me strangely and I realised it was because I still hadn't replied to him, 'Oh, hey' I replied sheepishly. I grinned at him 'How are you?'

'Um pretty good, better now your here' 

Yeah I guess it was cheesy, but still it was the cutest thing a guy had ever said to me.

'Soooo' Max said

'Didn't anyone tell you, it just makes things more awkward when you say that!' I shot at him, it's really one of my pet hates when people do that!

'Hmm, I guess you're right, I'll make a mental note to stop' He grinned at me

'So what's your house like?' I asked 'You've seen mine so it's only fair I at least learn about yours! Max looked a little uncomfortable at this, so I pressed on 'C'mon Max, my house is embarrassing in its size! Yours can't be that bad!'

'Well I'm not rich so it's not very big' He started awkwardly

'Max, I'm not gonna give you shit and leave you just 'cos your house is small' He looked slightly relieved, as though a big weight had been lifted off his shoulders. I felt a little hurt. 'Oh COME ON! you didn't really think that did you?!' Ouch! what had that boy been thinking about me all this time!

'Well I kinda thought it was a possibility...' He trailed off, giving me a sad smile

'Ok well now that you know I am NOT like that, you can tell me right?'

'Alright I guess, well, the windows are gray and the walls are white on the outside, and as you walk in, the walls are cream. the whole house is the same colour right through, except on one wall in the lounge, which is a really strange peach colour, but somehow it still works.' He stopped, looking worried

The house next door looked allot like the one he was describing, I thought to myelf, and I was modelling what his house might look like off that one. I should really get to know the people who live there, I've never even seen the owner... What am I saying?! I've never had a nice thought like that, and about neighbours of all people! Man, this boys goodness was rubbing off on me, and I wasn't enjoying it! 

'Go on' I urged, realising through my inner turmoil that he was still there, he hadn't been eaten by pickles yet!

'Well my room is upstairs and the wall is pretty much covered in posters,' he flushed a little as I rolled my eyes, did every teen do that? It was so typical! He continued on 'and I have a single bed on the left side of the room and a sofa and a TV on the other side.' He finished. I instantly warmed up further to him when he said sofa instead of couch, when people said couch, it just pissed me off! It is just a really fat word! And so ugly too!

'That's cute! Why be embarrassed about it!' I exclaimed

'Well it's no mansion' he grumbled

I just giggled and pulled him over to the seesaw.

'What's your favourite colour?' I shot

'Red' came the reply

'Favourite food?'

'lasagna'

'Ew gross! Do you know how much fat and calories are in that?!' I laughed 'favourite animal?'

'Bonobo'

'What the fuck is that?!' I guffawed, I hadn't had this much fun in years!

'It's a pygmy chimpanzee, it's a threatened species' he smiled

'Ahhh I see! Trying to raise awareness are we? Your just another one of those environmentalist freaks aren't you' I winked

'Wow, you caught me! I guess I better leave you now since I got my point across and you blew my cover' He grinned at me and started walking to the exit of the park

'Nooooo!' I raced after him and tackled him to the ground. We got back on the seesaw and continued with our conversation

'Now you know all that about me, I believe it's my turn.' He grinned wickedly 'First kiss?' He questioned

I stared at him in disbelief, mouth agape 'That's not fair!' I complained 'I didn't ask you mean questions like that!'

He sighed as though he had been let down big time but the grin on his face gave him away, 'OK if I tell you mine you'll tell me yours?' -I nodded- 'Well it was when I was eleven and there was a really cute girl I liked called Vivian and we were in the park one day, and I told her I liked her and she kissed me'

'Awwwww!' I crowed and Max blushed 'That's so sweet! Well mine was not quite so romantic as that, I was behind the girls toilets with some guy and I kissed him for a dare' I confessed

'Damn! That sucks! I'm glad I got a proper first kiss' He smirked, I always seemed to fall for guys who smirked, it was just so... sexy

'Smirk away pretty boy, but I'm still hotter than you' I joked. He looked confused for a minute but then we both burst out laughing.

'You Angel, are officially the weirdest girl I have ever met' He snickered, I beamed back at him as I realised he was the first guy I had ever just been myself with. It felt kinda good actually, having someone get to know the real you.
