I was walking to school, listening to music while keeping a straight face.. Alam kong magmumukha akong maldita pero I'm trying my best to not look nervous.

Nakalagpas nako sa 7/11, I was walking straight ahead without getting distracted. Until may nakita akong batang kinukulit ng isang lalake sa park-

I was observing the situation, sinasabihan ng lalake ang bata kung gusto nya ba ng chocolates. The girl said no pero parang ayaw sya tigilan ng lalake..

I decided to run over and took the girl's hand, tinago ko sya sa likod ko para di sya makuha ng lalake.

"What are you doing?" I asked, my eyebrows were crossed as I was worried for the little girl.

He smiled at me and then looked at the girl, "Chingu-ah, do you know this person? Come here" sabi nya while offering his hand to the girl

Tinignan ko yung bata, she was shaking her head no

"Yah, sino ka ba? At ba't mo kinukulit yung bata?" tanong ko, I'm so worried for the kid. Asan kaya parents nya..

"We're friends, we met a few days ago right?" sabi nya habang tinignan ang bata

The kid didn't respond, she was holding tight to my hand

"Hoy, umalis ka nga dito. Sabi ng bata di ka nya kilala, alis alis!! Tatawag ako ng police sige ka!!" sigaw ko

"Ibigay mo saken yung bata, di ka nya kilala" sabi nya

"Abah abah, at ano naman kung di nya ako kilala? She's safe with me, not like you na kikidnapin lang" sabi ko

He gave me a glare and then walked away..

I turned around and kneeled down, "Gwaenchanha? Are you hurt? Did he touch you somewhere?" nagtanong ako sa bata

"Okay lang po ako, thank you for protecting me unnie" sabi nya, giving me a smile and then hugged me

"Walang problema yun, asan parents mo?" I asked

"Iniwan po muna ako saglit ni mama dito, may bibilhin daw po sya saglit sa 7/11" sabi nya

"Ah.. we should wait for her here, don't worry I won't leave you until she doesn't show up" sabi ko, holding the girl's hand

I checked the time using my phone, it's 7:28 am.. that's okay, I'll be late sa flag ceremony.. but sana maabutan ko pa yung announcement sa results! I just have to be patient and wait for the girl's mother, malapit na din siguro yun..
