Isabel and I meet up halfway to study hall and walk the remainder of the way there together. She tells me all about how boring AP physics is.
"Mrs. Fredrick is so mean! And borin'!", she exclaims.
"I know", I tell her, "I have her to and it's hard to not fall asleep having her for first period."
"Ooo that sucks. I would fall asleep everyday. Heck, I probably still will and I have her fifth."
We arrive at the library and I lead us to a back table in the far right corner. It's secluded and isolated from the rest of the students here. We plop into our chairs and take out the things we need to work. For me, it's my calculus textbook, my binder, and calculator. I have 30 problems to do tonight and I'd rather do them here than at home. Isabel pulls out her French homework. "I can help with that if you need any", I offer. She gives me a doubtful look. She knows French isn't on my schedule. "I took French my freshman and sophomore year", I explain to her. "Oh ok I thought you were just being sarcastic or something. I didn't remember seeing it on your schedule." I nod in understanding and then focus on my horrid calculus. I sigh when I see the first problem; this is going to be a long study hall.
Finally, after what seems like ages, the bell ending the day rings. We pack up our stuff and head out the door. Isabel says, "Well my locker is on the other side of campus so I guess I'll see you tomorrow. Where do you usually hang out in the mornin'?"
"Ok, ya mines right down there so I'll see you tomorrow and same place we ate lunch. That's kinda my usual spot."
"Ok I'll see ya there tomorrow," she waves as she walks away and yells, "Bye Trystan!"
I laugh and yell back, "Bye Isabel!"
After going to my locker to grab a few things I head to my truck. I see Erik and a couple others from the basketball team head to the gym for practice. He's laughing at something one of the other guys is saying and it's music to my ears. I wish I could hear his laugh all the time. Heck, I wish I would be the cause of that beautiful laugh. I watch them disappear around the corner and then quicken my pace to my truck. I'm ready to get outta here. I hop in my truck and throw my bag into the passenger seat. I stick the key in the ignition and crank it up while putting on my seatbelt. The stereo comes to life along with the engine and Find Out Who Your Friends Are by Tim McGraw and Tracy Lawrence is playing. What a fitting song for today. I found out that Isabel is definitely my friend. Today was a good day and I actually find myself looking forward to tomorrow.

I pull into my driveway, shut off my truck, grab my bag, and hop out. I go inside and yell, "I'm home!!"
"Hey honey", I hear my dad shout back from the living room. I don't hear my mom say anything though but once I walk into the kitchen I see it's because she's sprawled out onto the couch taking a nap.
"I can make dinner if you'd like", I offer my dad.
"Ok, sure. I think your mom would greatly appreciate that."
I walk into the kitchen to see what I have to work with. It looks like my mom went to the store today while I was at school because there's chicken, green beans, and sweet potatoes in the fridge.
"Dad, do you want to grill this chicken or have me bake it?"
"I'll grill it. Prepare it and put it on a pan for me."
So I get to work seasoning the chicken and once I'm done I start on the potatoes and green beans.

An hour later everything is ready and my mom couldn't be happier. We sit around the dinner and enjoy our meal. We make small talk about our day and I decide to tell them about my new friend. They don't know the entire real truth about what happened between me and Kihanna. All they know is that she got royally mad at me and that she didn't wanna be my friend anymore.
"A new girl moved to our school today. Her name's Isabel and we're friends. I think I'm really gonna like her", I tell my parents.
"That's great Trystan!", my mom says excitedly. "When is she gonna come over?"
"I don't know", I tell her. "Maybe tomorrow?", I add hopefully.
"That's a great idea, she can even stay the night."
I smile, "That would be great mom, thanks."
She smiles back, "You're welcome sweetie."
After I take my last bite I say, "Well I have some homework I need to finish up so I'm gonna go ahead and get started." I excuse myself and rinse my plate off in the sink before placing it in the dishwasher. I decide to go ahead and take a shower so that I won't have to get back out of bed once I'm done. I know, lazy. I put my phone on my ihome to charge and head to my bathroom. I'm out in 10 minutes and dressed in my favorite pajamas: an old George Strait concert T-shirt and gym shorts. I get settled under my covers and get out my almost finished calculus homework. I grab my ihome remote and hit play. Once it registers the command, Give It All We Got Tonight by George Strait begins to play. I hum along as I finish my work. Finally after 20 long minutes of torturous equations and calculations, I'm done. Bedtime, yay!! I turn off my lamp and get comfy. I think of tomorrow and how great it is to finally have a friend again. I fall asleep to the deep voice of Josh Turner's, Time Is Love.
