ERIKS POV
Holy crap, I just ran into Trystan. Not only did I run into her, I made her slam her food into her chest and its all over her and on the floor. My mom would kill me. She would say I was raised better than this. I grab her arms before she can fall and an odd, tingly feeling spreads through my hands when I make contact with her skin.
She is fuming; I can practically see the steam rising off of her. This makes me smirk, she's kinda hot when she's mad. She looks up at me, probably to yell at me, but freezes when her eyes meet mine. The anger melts off her face and is replaced with a look of astonishment. Wow, her eyes are gorgeous. She's beautiful. Like an idiot, I stand there and stare at her. I realize what I'm doing and snap out of it. My momma raised me better than this.
"Oh, Trystan, I'm so sorry! I wasn't payin' attention. I'll buy you a new pizza! Oh, and a new shirt if you want. I feel terrible. Or you could take my hoodie, if you'd like. I-", I stop realizing I'm rambling. Jeez, I'm usually not this flustered around girls, what is happening to me?
She stands there frozen for another second, looking up at me. Then she quietly says, "Oh, um, its ok. You don't have to buy me a new shirt."
A smile spreads across my lips. She has the voice of a southern angel. Her voice is twinged with a perfect southern drawl. She's adorable. I can tell she definitely wants me to buy her pizza. She's still holding somewhat of a grudge. She didn't say no to my hoodie either, so I remove my hands from her arms and quickly take it off. The instant I remove my hands, they feel empty and cold. Ignoring the urge to touch her again, I hold it out to her. I can see she's about to protest so I say, "Please, take it. It's the least I can do if you won't let me buy you a shirt." I give her a genuine smile.
"Thank you," she says as she takes the jacket. She gives me a small smile in return.
"Now while you go change, I'll go buy you more pizza. What do you want?"
"Two Hawaiian slices, please."
She walks off towards the bathroom with my hoodie. I watch her walk away and it requires all my self control not to stare at her butt; I was raised to respect girls. I bend down and clean up the mess to the best of my ability and then go get in line to buy her more pizza. I get to the front of the line and order the two Hawaiian slices for her. I decide to also get her a chocolate chip cookie. I don't know if she likes cookies, but oh well. Hopefully, she does.
I leave the line with her food and look around. I realize I have no idea where she was going to sit. As I'm looking around, a girl with really curly hair walks up to me.
"Hi, I'm Isabel. I'm new at your school but I'm Trystans best friend. I saw you run into her and I'm guessin' that's her food you're holdin'. We are sittin' over here, follow me."
The curly haired girl, who I now know as Isabel, grabs my hand and leads me over to their table. Once I set the food down at the table I actually get to really look at her; I think I know her.
"Hey, aren't you in my physics class?"
"Yup. Surprised you remember that though."
"Well, I recognized you 'cause I see you walkin' around campus with Trystan." I realize what I just said. I sound like a creep, like I'm watching them from a distance or something. Which, maybe I kinda am, but I can't help it, Trystan is so pretty. One time, I pretended I left something in the gym just so I could walk by and see her before school.
She smirks at me. Trystan walks up behind her, dressed in my hoodie, which swallows her. She looks absolutely adorable in it. I smile at her and she smiles back shyly.
"I got your pizza. Oh, and a cookie", I hold up the cookie for her to see. "Do you like cookies? I hope you do 'cause I got you one."
She giggles at my rambling. She is so cute! I swear she gets cuter and cuter by the second. I smile big at her. Wow, I am a sucker for this girl.
She looks at me and says, "Yes, I like cookies. Thank you."
I know I probably need to leave, I've already disrupted their lunch enough. Although, I really don't want to. I feel a magnetic pull towards Trystan. I don't wanna leave her side. "You're welcome. Sorry again for running into you. Well, I'll let you two enjoy your lunch. I'll see you later, Trystan." I smile and wave before leaving them to their lunch.
Walking off, I think about Trystan. Trystan used to be the "it" girl at Riverside High. That's not why I like her though. I fell hard for Trystan in eighth grade; however, I could never make myself approach her. I know, its ridiculous, I've crushed on her for almost five years and haven't done anything.
I'm not shy or anything, I was even as popular as she was. I hung out in her group. I invited her to all my parties. The parties were always at my house because I had a lot of land and wood for bonfires.
Every time I invited her I would tell myself, "I will go talk to her tonight." I never did. I don't even really know why. My party is actually the reason Trystan is shunned at school. I feel so bad, like its my fault. She didn't deserve what happened to her. If I had just went and talked to her that night, I could've been there to protect her. People think that I hate her because she got me grounded and some of my friends were put in jail. It's exactly the opposite though, I love her. And she has no idea.
