The bell signaling the end of the day rings and I start to pack my stuff up. I shove my binder in, zip up my bag, sling it over my shoulder, and quickly head out the door. On my way to my car, I stop by my locker to pick up a couple text books. As I head out the door I spot Erik and his group of friends walking to the gym, and once again my gaze lasts just a little too long.

"Crap", I mumble to myself. He starts to look my way so I quickly avert my eyes and head towards my truck. When I reach my Chevy I open the door, throw my bag into the passenger seat, and slide in. I head out of school and towards home.

On the drive home I wonder about the odd event of today. Erik Carson smiled at me. It was his party that changed my life all because.... No I'm not revisiting that. It's unnecessary and will only bring pain and panic. The last thing I need is a panic attack while driving. The best thing to do is just forget about it. He probably just mistook me for someone else, no big deal, right? It was just an accident. A beautiful accident I wish would happen again! Ugh, he's so perfect.

I pull into the driveway and park my truck. My parents are home already; both their vehicles are in the driveway. My dad drives a Silverado like me, but his is a blue 2015 model. Unlike my dad and I, my mom drives a white 2013 Chevy Tahoe.

I head inside to find my dad watching a documentary on tv and my mom making tonight's dinner. "Hey mom, hey dad", I call as I walk through the door. My dads too engrossed in the documentary he's watching but I get a hey from my mom.

"How was school today?", she asks.

"It was fine", I reply as I grab a coke from the fridge, "I'm gonna go do some homework now, call me when dinners ready."

I give her a quick kiss on the cheek and head to my room. I shut the door, drop my backpack on the floor, and plop onto my bed. I grab my ihome remote and hit play, within seconds my iPod comes to life and Neon Light by Blake Shelton is flowing through the speakers. I get comfy and relax.

My mind starts to wander and eventually today's unusal event clouds my thoughts. I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that Erik Carson smiled at me: the girl who doesn't exist. The once popular girl who hasn't existed since his party this past summer.

We had only talked a handful of times to begin with, I know that's odd since he's so dang hot. Even though I was once the most popular girl, I hardly ever talked to anyone but my best friend and the guys she talked to. Erik happened to be one of those guys, which is why I even ever talked to him.

Half of those times were just him telling me about the upcoming party he was having and requesting my attendance to them. I can't think of any reason that he would possibly smile at me. I'm nothing to smile about anymore. Heck, I'm the one who ruined his party, put some of his friends temporarily in jail, and got him grounded. All of those questions crowd my thoughts the rest of the afternoon until dinner.

Eventually, my moms voice cuts through my thoughts, "Trystan! Honey, dinner's ready!" With that I rid my thoughts of Erik and crawl out of bed and head to the dining room to eat.
