After dinner, I go back to my room to do my homework and get ready for the next day. I end up getting sidetracked and watching The Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.
When the movies over, I do all my homework and put on my pajamas. I get comfy and hit play on my ihome. This time Boondocks by Little Big Town comes on and I fall asleep to the lullaby of the midnight train.

I wake up to the sounds of pots and pans banging around in the kitchen, sounding like someone parading through the house with crash symbols. It must be my moms day off. I unlock my phone to see that I have 20 minutes before my alarm goes off. Sighing, I go ahead and turn off my alarm and head out into the kitchen.
I walk in to see my mom on the floor with the cabinets holding the pots and pans wide open. She's surrounded by numerous ones scattered all over the floor. When she notices me standing there she chuckles and says, "Panalanch." Which means she tried to pull out a pan on the bottom and the rest fell out and onto the floor.
"Good job, mom", I tell her as I walk over to the fridge and pull out the milk and pour myself a glass.
"I'm gonna make you some pancakes and bacon. Sound good?"
My stomach grumbles at the thought, "Sounds delicious. While you do, I'm gonna go ahead and take my shower and get dressed."
"Ok, take your time Trys", she calls as I head to my bathroom.
About half an hour later I'm stepping out of a wonderful, hot shower into the cold air of my bathroom. With my towel wrapped around me I head to my dresser to grab todays pair of jeans. Non-voluntarily, Erik's image comes to mind and I have the urge to try to look really good today for him. I mentally slap myself and shake the thought from my mind.
I don't need to look nice for Erik, he's not even gonna look at me anymore; however, the optimistic side of me whispers, "yes he will if you look exceptionally presentable today."
Caving to my brains unrealistic thoughts, I grab a pair of Levi bootcuts out of the bottom drawer, a fitted blue and black plaid flannel that brings out my blue eyes and hugs my body in all the right places from my closet, and my favorite Justin work boots. I hurry back to my bathroom to get dressed and do my hair.
As I stare at myself in the mirror, I notice how long my light brown hair has gotten. I probably need to get it trimmed soon to get rid of the dead ends. I quickly but carefully pull it into a simple braid that rests on my shoulder and hangs down just above my rib cage. I don't apply any make up because I don't believe a girl needs any. My philosophy is, if a guy doesn't like you without it, then they aren't worth your time. Every girl is gorgeous, and don't let any guy, no matter who he is, tell you any different.
Satisfied with my appearence, I grab my backpack off the floor by my bed and head into the kitchen. My mom is just finishing up the bacon as I walk in and she hands me a plate piled with three pancakes and five strips of sizzling bacon before she goes into the living room.
I place my plate on the bar and hop onto the stool. I drown my pancakes in syrup before I dig in. Man, my mom can cook; I wish she had everyday off of work.
"Mom I think you need to quit your job and start working from home", I tell her before unceremoniously shoving the last bite of pancakes into my mouth. Laughing she says, "Ok, I'll get right on that."
I put my plate in the sink and grab my bag to head to my truck. As I walk out the door I yell, "Bye mom! Thanks for breakfast!" I faintly hear her say to have a good day as I close the door. I hop in my truck and turn up the radio to hear Beat of the Music by Brett Eldridge flow through my speakers. I back out of my driveway and start the quick drive to school.
