SNOH
It felt like something—no someone was touching me. Or at least I thought that was what was happening with me. I had fallen asleep, peacefully without dreams this time, my simple rest a large dark void of nothing as my body rejuvenated slowly; that was until I heard the sounds of someone calling my name within that emptiness.
"Snoh.... Snoh..." The deep voice wasn't rushed or frantic, rather it was soothing and calm. It lulled me into a sense of security and comfort that made me grow deeper into my sleep. But then I felt it again... the sensation of a hand palming the side of my face. The hand was a bit cold, kind of like when the Grand Empress touched me, it wasn't a reaction that made me want to instantly pull my face away, but it definitely brought a great shock to my body.
I instantly gasped and sat up in my bed, waiting a moment as my eyes adjusted around the dark crevices of my room. I was wide awake, I knew I was but something was different within my room. It was almost as if I could feel the pulsating energy of someone previously being here. The air sizzled and crackled with an intense vigor not to mention, I could feel the throbbing of my skin markings on the side of my arm.
My eyes continued to scatter across my bedroom, but I found no one there; not a peep and the house was still silent due to the fact that it was still early in the night. I shook my head and slipped out of bed, heading straight for my window where I knew Saam would be nestled somewhere in a tree.
"Saam," I called for him.
"Why are you awake?" He answered a moment later. I could sense he was in the tree somewhere, but he wasn't making a motion to move, probably due to the fact that he was comfortable at the moment.
I didn't blame him.
"I don't know... I felt like someone was in my room." I said to him nervously.
The sounds of the tree leaves brushing against each other alerted me to the side of the tree nestled beside my bedroom window. Out in the same direction, came Saam fluttering his white wings in the direction of my window, I pulled the door open wider so he could be let through and he slipped in, fluttering all throughout my space before returning to rest on my shoulder.
"There does seem to be a high volume of magic present in the air... you sure it wasn't your mother, or perhaps your younger brother?" He asked me curiously.
I scratched the back of my head, pondering to myself about the possibility. "I mean, it could be. But I don't see why they would be up at this time, nevertheless using any type of magic... it wouldn't be like them." I said.
"Fair enough." He agreed.
Instead of getting back in the bed and forcing myself to go back to sleep, I headed outside of my room, making my way to the rest of my family member's rooms to check upon them. I first stopped at mom and Yursa's room, pushing the door open softly as to not alert them from their slumber, and found them both resting comfortably under the sheets sleeping. They looked as if they have not been disturbed for hours, so I highly doubt my mother had peeked her head into my room.
"Looks peaceful here," Saam mentioned.
I agreed with a simple head nod and continued my path towards Iah's room. His door was slightly opened, but that was always the case when he slept. He used to have a fear when he was younger, that a ghoul was hiding in his closet, so he left the door open as a quick escape out and over to our mothers' room if he needed to. Though he had grown out of the fear of seeing a monster, a force of habit kept his room door slightly ajar always.
