"You're Prince Jovian's companion? How can this be?! All this time Osiris has been accompanying him." I struggled to make sense of what this extremely large lion was telling me at this moment. The way its golden eyes twinkled and blinked with calm normalcy contrasted the excitable and tempered prince he shared his undying time with.

"Osiris does a better job at taming him at times and I am forever grateful for that. He can be a handful to deal with." Jio replied with a short stretch of his elongated body before he rested against the nearby grass beside the pathway I had been walking on previously before getting intercepted by Prince Jovian.

Prince Jovian huffed in outrage, "What am I a child that needs to be dealt with constantly?!" He complained.

Jio groaned with frustration, "Quite frankly, yes..." He replied to him blandly to Jovian's dismay.

I snickered that even Prince Jovian's guardians found his behavior to be troublesome the way everyone from the outside looking in saw it; at least it made me feel that I wasn't crazy whenever he was interacting with me. He was always quite pretentious and overbearing whenever he came around.

Not to mention his roundabout way of replying to the questions I ask him.

But despite my amusement, I knew better than to disregard the fact that there were questions I needed answering and immediately too! I shook my head and focused on the mighty lion, "Jio, who does Osiris belong to?" I asked boldly.

Jio seemed like a truthful and humble companion, so if I asked him something, chances were that he would reply with honesty which was exactly what I needed. "Unfortunately dear, I cannot disclose that information. It is not my place to do so." He replied ominously.

I threw my hands up in frustration. You have got to be kidding me!

I turned over to Jovian who had his arms crossed over his chest, "What?" He called out to me in confusion.

My eyes narrowed as I fully took in his stature. The broadness of his shoulders, his height, his hair color—eyes, all of it I made sure to observe. Some of the things matched the description of the trench coat man, but at the same time, the way he carried himself was a complete contrast from what I had been faced with previously.

What was I missing?

"Why did you lie about being the one who followed me all this time?" I questioned him.

He shrugged, "I didn't lie... I simply omitted the truth. Plus it was funny to see the gears in your head turn as you tried to figure out what was going on around you." He smirked and my gaze further narrowed at him in dismay, "Besides, like Jio stated some things are meant for me to say, I know my place when it comes to certain things in life, hm?" He gave me a short wink and uncovered his hands to run his hands through his wild mane of curls.

"Enough with the vague answers! You... Osiris, Niloh... everyone around me is just a bag of mystery! Does anyone understand how unnerving this is for me? I wake up one day just being able to wield magic after spending isos thinking I was nothing more than a red-blood." I turned to Jio and frowned.

"I find people who are somewhat similar to me in physical aspects and somehow I'm left more confused than when I initially returned here. The only person who seems to actively be searching for some sort of cause and reasoning is Scholar Gah." I turned back to Prince Jovian who arched his eyebrow in curiosity.
