SNOH
"What are you three even doing here? I was coming to this side of Oaocene...alone. I didn't ask for any additional help." Koia breathed an air of frustration as she looked over at her cousins with annoyance. All three of them, seemingly younger than she was, gazed at her with wide and curious eyes.
"We know! But the elders in charge of the district informed us that you may need help lugging some of the crystals back, so we volunteered to help you out." The siren with an ombre-colored hair mixture of cotton candy pink and a citrusy orange looked over me with her vibrant apricot eyes, "Who are you, land dweller?" She questioned me abruptly.
"Yeah!" The one with sparkling lavender and brown hair chimed in, "We aren't supposed to speak with people on the land, it's forbidden." She added.
Before I could get a moment to respond, the last of the siren cousins spoke up. "Koia was up here with you, what were you two doing prior to us appearing?" She inquired. I turned to the last one with the dark hair; it was as dark as coal and spiraled down her back effortlessly all the while a streak of her front strand illuminated a bright peach color. Her eyes, like the first siren that had spoken, was an intense apricot color that seemed to change slightly with her progressive moods.
"None of your business, Nixie!" Koia growled angrily at her cousin.
I pursed my lips and walked closer to the bank of water where her cousins were perched up against, keeping themselves steady against the rapidly flowing pace of the water. "I know we are forbidden to speak, but quite frankly, Koia and I have been close friends for isos. We would greatly appreciate it that you do not mention this to your elders, if possible." I said politely.
The cousins all tilted their heads to the side simultaneously at my words, almost as if they were fascinated that they were speaking to me, a simpleton who dwelled on the land above them. "My name is Nixie of the Hydra waters!" The one with the bright orange tail and dark tail called out with a bright smile.
I returned the smile with one of my own, "I am Snoh Encre of....well, Wegrea." I stated.
"Are you an elementists!" The other with purple features called out to me abruptly. I nodded quickly, "I am... I can wield three elements." I replied to her. She nodded impressed with this information, "Wow... I've never seen one up close before... my name is Amara of the Hydra waters." She introduced herself formally.
"Nice to meet you, Amara." I looked over to the final cousin of the Hydras and encourage her to speak. She seemed like the most reluctant of the three, having been the one to mention how forbidden it was to speak to outsiders of a different species; her eyes followed my every movement as if at any second I would leap out and grab her in a harmful way.
"And your name is Kishi, I suppose?" Taking that was the last of the names Koia had belted out at first.
She nodded slowly. "But I am not of the Hydra waters... I was born in the Yulo waters...Kishi Yulo." She emphasized with a quick nod of her head. I was beginning to understand that surnames worked differently in the underwater kingdom; it seemed that whatever part of the water in Wysteria you were born in became your last name, despite blood relation to other sirens and whatnot.
