SNOH
"Snoh Encre!" I jumped up once my name was called within the seating area I was told to make myself comfortable in. It's been nearly half an hour since I walked into the Mystical Academy Recruitment building where I essentially walked up to the nearest person I could find and asked if I could apply to the academies. I wouldn't lie the moment those words left my mouth, the administrators who checked me from head to toe let out a big chuckle as if they weren't expecting someone like me to walk through their doors, it was very unnerving.
They asked me a lot about my hair color and personal background which I wasn't quite sure why it had anything to do with me applying before handing off a stack of papers that I had to fill out for them; they already informed me that the school quarter had begun and maybe they were just humoring me by allowing me to still apply, but there wasn't much I could do on that end.
I spent most of that time sitting and filling out my order preference for what school I would attend if chosen so, I put Clouiths first followed by Godria, and finally, Knoc Red. I choose Knoc Red last because Fiestras had continuous tension with the nation. Just like their natural fire element, Fiestrans were quite ill-tempered when it came to interacting with others; they were brash and unfiltered—at least that's what a lot of Wysterians said, I have yet to meet one in person, but I would hate to have to be surrounded by many natives in a country I didn't know much of.
Godria Mystical Academy was a close second due to the fact that Enid was from there himself; he always spoke positively about his native home and at times showed me pictures from the places he frequented, so my personal opinion of the air nation was that of a person ecstatic to visit whenever I was allotted the opportunity to.
Regardless, the remainder of the questionnaire was loaded with questions such as when did I first develop abilities, if I attended stagnant or premier schooling in order to develop, and what elements I possessed, the last of the questions were concerning my immediate family member's power lineage; I assumed that was due to them collecting information if I came from a magical-family or not
Now here I was... waiting. That was until one of the enrollment assistants called me up.
"Uh... here!" I stood up quickly and walked over to the woman who had called me over. I could feel the plentiful gazes that watched my figure make its way over to the pompous looking whose name I did not get the chance to familiarize myself with.
I stopped just short of the woman where she stood high and mighty, her lips maroon-painted lips were pursed outwards and her small eyes were narrowed as she gazed at me suspiciously. In her adjacent hand, she held a clipboard, presumably with the questionnaire I had filled out earlier that she had reviewed. My lips curved into a tentative smile as I awaited the next words to come from her mouth, but she only seemed to remain silent as she looked down at the clipboard to me and then back to me once more.
She eventually cleared her throat and made a gesture with her idle for me to follow her. The woman turned on her steep heel and began marching towards a different area of the recruitment center; still, eyes followed me on my way out, but I breathed a sigh of relief once I was out of their view; something was so judgmental and scrutinizing about the individuals in the center. They definitely weren't welcoming people and it surprised me quite a bit, you would think they would be excited to see new faces pop in, but I assume not.
My gaze studied and fell on the beautiful architecture of the building around me as I continued walking; the ceilings were extremely high and just like many structures in Wysteria, they were adorned with beautiful stained glass. I continued admiring the beautiful art pieces and statues and pondered to myself if Clouiths was anything like what this place was like; I didn't see any brochures around so it wasn't like I could get a quick glimpse of what the different academies looked like.
