SNOH
"New student?!" My brother sputtered out in complete confusion. His eyes were wide and frantic almost as if seeing me here had completely taken him off-guard. Like he had absolutely no idea something like this would be possible. My smile dissipated slightly as I observed the stacks of papers and books in his arms; he seemed to have been coming into the admin office for a particular reason but I was not quite sure why.
Headmistress Omprus nodded her head at my brother's inquisition. "Yes, isn't this exciting. I'm sure you're happy to see your sister after all this time, huh?" She beamed at him with a wide smile.
I took looked over at my brother in anticipation to see if he was just as excited as I was to see him after all these isos, and he smiled, though it seemed rather forced and vacant—devoid of any sincerity. He cleared his throat and hoisted the items up in his arms, "Thrilled if I might say so myself..." He looked over at me his eyes scanning every inch of my face and body, all while stopping just shy of where my hair rested.
"Isn't a bit...late to be admitting students at Clouiths?" Zimiri asked the Headmistress with raised eyebrows. The leader of the school cocked her head to the side while pursuing her lips in anticipation of replying to the question. "Late... not so much, the quarter only began a few weeks ago, she has time to catch up...." The Headmistress adjusted herself and the blazer she was wearing.
"With Snoh's special circumstances it was imperative we have her at the school as soon as possible." She finished with a simple nod. Zimiri turned back to me and furrowed his heavy, dark eyebrows, "Special circumstances?" He echoed.
"I—." The Headmistress shook her head made a motion with her hand not to reveal anything.
"How about we all chat in a bit more privacy? There are a lot of open ears in this area." I turned immediately after she said that just in time to see the remainder of the staff in the administrative room pretend to get back to work, avoiding my gaze long enough for me to turn back around.
Zimiri gestured to the items in his hands, "I have to go through a few of these today, I'm a bit busy." He made a motion to move between us, but the Headmistress placed a hand on his shoulders, "Oh nonsense! I'm sure Snoh could use her older brother's company on her first day here. Take the tour with us, I'm sure you can even help her get settled in as well." She insisted.
"But I—."
The lady who helped me earlier with all my forms walked over and gently took the books from my brother's hand. "I'll hold onto these for you, Zimiri... no worries about getting it completed so soon." She informed him despite his adamant protests. Without another word, the Headmistress escorted both of us out of the admin office and towards where she would begin her tour.
I walked beside my brother and turned to him, just as he did the same with me. I smiled brightly at him. He definitely looked a lot older than when I last saw him...Goddesses! I had to have been maybe twelve isos when both dad and him took off. He was fully grown now, but he carried the same wide-set and narrow cerulean-blue eyes I had looked into many times in my childhood.
He was also taller, definitely a few more inches above me. He was still average build and trimmed with a solid body, his chin was even more so pointed now with a square and chiseled jaw-line and high cheekbones to complement his face; he looked a lot like dad now that I thought of it.
