SNOH
"Miss! You don't have an appointment with the Prime Chairman, you have to step away from the door, please!" The male secretary in charge of preventing stragglers such as me from getting through the door of the private Chairman's office, stood in front with his arms crossed over his chest. His piercing smoky-wood eyes continued to stare me down in an attempt to discourage me from going further.
"I just want to have a light chat with the Prime Chairman is all," I stated boldly.
The secretary titled his head to the side, "And do you have an appointment?" He questioned me. I shook my head slowly, "No..." I trailed off. The secretary then pointed to his desk where a small ledger and fountain pen were waiting.
"Then I suggest we make one, hm?" He insisted.
I pouted in frustration. I didn't want to show my displeasure but it was clear on my face; I knew I should have known better than to sporadically show up at Niloh's office, but I had no idea he was here until I used magic to find his essence. It led me to this extremely large and decadently adorned building where a lot of high-level Clouiths administrators and dean's offices were located.
It was too late to back out and I had already walked so far to get here, I should at least have the opportunity to speak to him—my cousin. Goddesses! That was odd to comprehend in my mind; over a month ago, Niloh had essentially been a stranger that I meant on the Hydro train coincidentally—though that could be debatable.
And now here he was, revealed as a direct cousin to my father and aunt.
And to me.
It was a wonder he was able to keep such a big secret from me, opting to speak in vague tones and patterns just long enough for my true father to show his face and explain the circumstances; it was all still pretty new to me and I needed some time to adjust that was for sure.
I sighed deeply.
My gaze turned back to the appointment ledger, knowing full and well I wasn't going to bother my time with it; I could just contact Niloh telephonically and let him know that I am here.
Hopefully, then, he would take me in, even if just for a few minutes.
The secretary cleared his throat, "Uh... Miss?" He gestured for the ledger once more and I nodded, holding my index finger up. "Just a moment, sir. I'm... thinking." I replied ominously as I began focusing my energy towards Niloh's essence; due to our close proximity, the connection immediately clasped together like a magnetic device and I was tied in with Niloh.
"Niloh," I called to him.
"I thought I heard your voice outside, are you well, Snoh? Have you come to see me?" He replied cheerfully. I grinned a little knowing I could only imagine his high cheekbones lifting against his golden-toned face as he pleasantly smiled at me.
"I have," I replied.
Niloh went silent on my end of the telepathic communication we shared, but not too soon after, the sound of the door sliding open caused both the secretary and me to turn towards the wooden structure. "Prime Chairman!" The Secretary rushed over to him with an apologetic glance, his hands clasped together pleadingly as he begged for mercy.
"My apologies for the noise, but this student refused to schedule an appointment meeting with you." He stated. I fought the urge to roll my eyes at the man, but at the same time I couldn't blame him; he was simply doing his job and he nothing of me, all he knew was that I was a random student sauntering in demanding to speak to one of the top officials at Clouiths—it was a bit much, even I could admit.
