The hug of not a goodbye but of soon we will see each other soon. Clive came to me as I pulled away from the hug I was in as Clive looked at us with a sad look I've never seen on him before. He knew that family matter to the victors and districts, but he only ever had Effie before two years ago.
"Its time to go." Clive said to us and I nodded in a reply to him. Clive escorted me to the front door. "You're excited, you're in love, big smiles for the camera. In three, two, one." Clive said trying to sound cheery as he opened the door and I walked out.
There was a huge camera which they would have to speak to. I looked around and I heard Caesar Flickerman's voice from the camera. "There she is Ruth Junewealth the girl on fire." Caesar said about me. I smiled at the camera and walked down the steps. The doors opposite her house opened as Cato and Roy walked confidently out.
"There they are Cato Hadley and Roy Overfall." Caesar said about Cato and Roy who walked down the stairs and smiled at the camera. They both glanced at me and as if I couldn't handle it anymore I started to run towards them. Cato caught me and spun me around and Cato kissed as I was in shock while Roy looked in anger.
I knew I wasn't alone, so Roy pulled Cato away from me and glared at him as Caesar coughed in the background. "Anyone home? Should we come back later?" Caesar asked as Roy, Cato and I all looked at the camera and laughed. They stood together Cato's hand wrapped around my hand as Roy had his arm around my shoulders.
"So how's it going?" Caesar asked us about our lives. "We're good." Cato said and it became silent. "That's it all we get?" Caesar said dramatically. "We've never been closer thanks to the generosity of the Capitol." I said cautiously. "Oh come on tell us some tales." Caesar asked once again. "Well we haven't seen each other till now but we speak all the time." Cato lied.
"Oooooh tell us!" Caesar asked in exactment. "I'm sorry Caesar we can't. I'm not sure my mother would want it broadcasted over Panem." I said making everyone laugh. "Fantastic, we'll be talking to you throughout the tour." Caesar said as we smiled and waited for the cameras to turn off. The crew turned off them off as Clive and Jasmine shouted happily.
"Wonderful! We'll be leaving in 10." Clive said getting excited himself. Roy, Cato and I stepped back and looked at each other. "You look nice." Cato said scared and I smiled at him. "Look Cato I'm sorry I never answered it's been a hard couple of months, I am really sorry." I said to him as Roy was probably glaring at Cato.
"Don't be. I do love you Ruth Junewealth." Cato said softly and Roy growled lowly. "I should go and get ready and so should you." I said as I smiled weakly before re-entering my house.
Roy P.O.V. "Don't think that you have a chance with Ruth because you don't." I said to Cato in anger. "It's her choice to pick who she wants, Mr. I've had a crush on you." Cato said to me and walking away. "I'll have her no matter what, Cato. I'm closer to her than you are." I called to him before walking into my own house. We said our goodbyes and went on the train. It was weird having Brutus and Enobaria along with their escort and Cato's prep team and stylist with them. Ruth and I ate a delicious meal before going to our separate beds. It was around midnight when I heard a knock at my door. I got up to answer it and saw Ruth at the door with a flustered face. "Can I stay with you, Roy." Ruth asked me and I smiled at her. "Sure," I said opening the door more for her to walk in the room. I closed the door and got on the other side of the bed that Ruth wasn't on.
"Thank you, Roy." Ruth said softly to me. "For what?" I asked her confused. "For being there for me even if you didn't need to." Ruth said again. I got closer to Ruth and gentle pull her to me before speaking to her. "I'll always be here for you. I'll always be around even if you choose Cato to love." I tell Ruth not hinting about my own thoughts and feelings right now. "Good night, Roy." Ruth whispered to me. "Good night." I replied back smiling keeping my arm around her so she is safe with me.
