Johanna sent a playful wink at Roy as he blushed trying not to stare at her more as the elevator opened. "Thanks. We have to do it again sometime." Johanna said before disappeared. "Thank you." Mox and Joan said together as Roy looked down to not look at Johanna's butt while she walked away. I laughed at his blushing face before punching him lightly. "What was that for?" Roy asked as he rubbed the spot I hit. "No one checks Johanna out." I said as I playfully glaring at him. everyone at dinner sat and talking happily but my thoughts were somewhere else. I looked at my hand with the engagement ring on. Joan looked over to me and signed softly in thought. "Be careful, Rut." Joan said softly to me as I got up and I nodding to her in agreement. I went to the roof to think bout how life is go to be if we win again. The elevator door opens behind me and I waited for the person to come sit with me.
"So, Rut, got any news for me to share with the victor fam." Finnick's voice asked about some news as he sat down next to me. "I'm engaged to Roy and pregnant with his baby but Joan said to tell you and a few others. But I'm scared, Fin. How can I go in the games knowing that in about 9 months I'm going to have a kid?" I asked him for advice. "Don't worry, Ruth. You got people to help you in the arena. You will be well protected. Your baby is going to be fine and he or she will have loving parents, Aunts and an Uncles, two grandmothers and cool victor godparents. If Mags dies in this game, we'll know that someone will name their baby after her." Finnick said about the games, Mags and the baby.
"Thanks Finnick. You're the best victor brother ever." I said to him as I leaned my head on his shoulder. "Any time, lil sister, anytime." Finnick said with a small smile. After about 25-30 minutes the elevator door opens again as Finnick and I look over to see Cato and Roy with the latter having a sour look on his face. "I'll leave you three. See ya in the morning, Rut." Finnick said about the morning and gave me a brotherly hug before leaving. "What's wrong with you two?" I asked them about their moods. "He still thinks he can win you over." Roy said about Cato who still didn't see the ring Roy gave me on my finger. "That's because your family's life isn't on the line, Overfall." Cato said about his family. "Cato." I said as he looked over to me and had stopped talking. "Yeah," he asked not sure what's going on. "You have to give me up now. After this game when you go home, find a girl, marry her and have a kid with her. You'll do find without me in your life anymore." I said to him about our life. "I can't, Ruth. I can't let you go without a fight. I should have volunteered when I had a chance to be with you more." Cato said as he tried to grab my hand.
"You can't anymore, Cato. But I'm giving you a chance to get your family to somewhere safer when everyone is in the games and the capitol is watching the games. Get everyone you know to 13 and as far away from the capitol as you can. Something big is coming and it's going to get everyone we know killed." I said to him as I tried to talk to him to leaving with everything he has. "Not without you." Cato said about me. "You have no choice now, Cato. You fought well to get me but it's over, I already picked months ago." I said as I showed him the ring I got from Roy. Roy and I started to go into the elevator before Cato called to us. "When did you guys got together." Cato asked us about the engagement. "A day or two after the whipping." I said about the whipping as the door to the elevator closes as we leave him on the roof. We went to bed after we ate dinner and cuddles before the 3-day training then the games. "Goodnight Sweetheart. Go to sleep." Roy said softly as he put his hand on my waist. I woke up screaming and covered in sweat. Roy woke up from my scream as he watched me going into the bathroom and had a shower before lying down on my bed next to Roy. "Are you okay, Ruth." Roy asked me about my scream. "Yeah, I'm fine but the nightmare was about the games, the rebellion and the baby. What are we going to do, Roy?" I said about nightmare. "It's going to be fine, Ruth. You, the baby, our family, friends and I will survive this in the best we all can. The capitol will not hurt us much longer once things die down for good." Roy said trying to comfort me with a promise of the future. I dressed slowly into my training outfit Cinna must have left the previous night. Roy and I went to the dinning room where there was sausages, eggs, potatoes, bread, juice and hot chocolate on the table and Clive, Mox and Joan eating. Roy and I ate it slowly trying to drag it out until 10 o'clock when we had to go down into the training centre.
