Clive called to my prep team as we were still followed behind him. There were lots of tables full of food and the prep teams kept on handing us food to try. "Try these. They're delicious." Flanks said about the food, Roy, Cato, and I full up refused. "No I can't I'm too full." Roy said to Flanks who passed him a pink coloured drink. "Here." He said once again, and we're confused as we stared at it. "What's this?" I asked for all of us. "It's for when your full, it's makes you sick so you can eat more. How else are you meant to try everything?" Flanks said about the drink as Roy and Cato felt me tense up so put the drink down. "I think it's time for a dance." Roy said as he led me to the dance floor away from Cato and Flanks. "It's sick with all the people starving and dying in the districts then they just throw up so they can have more." I whispered angrily to Roy who signed. "I know Ruth. I guess the people in the capitol don't really think before they speak." Roy said sadly knowing the problem 11, 12, and14 were going through.
"ROY, CATO, AND RUTH!" We heard Clive called to us so we stopped want we were doing as Clive walked over to us as Cato came up behind us to see what Clive wanted. Plutarch Heavensbee closely behind him and I noticed he had a watch on his wrist. "This is Plutarch Heavensbee the new head game maker. Successor to Seneca Crane." Clive said about Plutarch and Seneca as Cato smirked. "That's quite an act to follow." Cato said about Seneca as Roy and I looked at him amused and impressed. "Cato!" Roy growled at Cato as Plutarch just smiled at him and he looked at me. "May I?" he asked me to dance and I nodded. We started to dance together with Roy, Clive and Cato were by the drink stand. "So how do you like the party?" Plutarch asked me about the party. "It's a little overwhelming." I said awkwardly looking away. Plutarch shook his head. "It's appalling." He said and I looked at him in surprise. "If you abandon your moral judgement then it can be fun." He continued to say about the game. "So are you having fun?" I asked him slightly amused. "I'm head game maker, funs my job." Plutarch said as I looked away again.
"That's what happened to Seneca Crane he had too much fun." I said about Seneca and having fun. "He decided to quit breathing." Plutarch said about his death. "I'm sorry." I said looking away angry. "It was poisonous berries. This job isn't very secure." Plutarch said about the head game maker. "Then why are you here?" I asked him about being here. "Let's just say you inspired me." he said as I looked at him. He looked down at his watch and opened the lid, he showed me my Mockingjay symbol. "It starts at Midnight." He said and I stared at him confused. Then I realized that he was one of the spies that Cinna talked about before I left 14. Suddenly, dramatic music came on signalling Snow was coming out. "I'm sure we'll meet again." He said before walking away. I heard my name and saw Clive, Roy, and Cato in front of me. "Ruth come the president waits." Clive said to me then Roy, Cato and I held hands then walked up towards his balcony. They clapped then everyone went silent for Snow greeted everyone. "Tonight, on this the last day of their tour, I want to welcome our three victors. Three young people who embody our ideals of strength and valour. And I personally want to congratulate them on the announcement one of a possible engagement." Snow said about Cato's engagement as everyone cheered and I and Cato smiled at them. "Your love has inspired us. And I know it will go on inspiring us, every day, for as long as you may live." Snow continues then a huge firework display happened. Everyone turned around to look at it. Snow drank his champagne and when he finished it was red from blood. I turned to look back at him and stared at him expectedly. He shook his head and my face fell.
None P.O.V. Snow and Heavensbee sat watching the recaps. "Look at them. She's not who they think she is. She's not a leader, she just wants to save her own skin, its as simple as that." Snow said about Ruth. "I think that's true." Plutarch said agreeing to Snow as he sighed. "She's become a beacon of hope for the rebellion and she has to be eliminated." Snow said about Ruth dying. "I agree she should die but in the right way. At the right time. Its moves and counter-moves, that's all we gotta look at, Ruth Junewealth is a symbol, their Mockingjay. They think she's one of them; we need to show that she's one of us. We don't need to destroy her just the image. Then we let the people do the rest." Plutarch said about the crowds. "What do you propose?" Snow asked Plutarch for an idea to destroy Ruth. "Shut down the black markets, take away what little they have then double the amount of floggings and executions, put them on TV, broadcast them live. So fear more fear." Plutarch said about the black markets at 12 and 14. "It won't work. Fear does not work as long as they have hope, and Ruth Junewealth is giving them hope." Snow said about ruth yet again.
