Because of his seemingly having all the luck with even the freshman girls, Hawk was viewed as a "good-luck charm" by the girls, and the guys would even come to him for advice regarding their relationships. Plus, they'd even heard about that so-called trend called "girlfriend stealing" through grapevine gossip more than once, so one of them made it a point to inform Hawk about it while also making sure to add that Hawk was more than welcome to "steal" away his girlfriend if he wanted to.

And the Mean Bees (as Regina, Mary, and Annie were sometimes called)? The other guys viewed them as "unlucky" and "bad luck magnets," and they made a point of avoiding them after hearing through grapevine gossip about how mean they were to others.

Hawk exuded an effortless charisma that seemed to magnetically pull the girls to his side, drawing them in with his easy laughter and playful banter. With his hair in a blue Mohawk and piercing blue eyes, he had an air of confidence that made him irresistible, and the girls often found themselves hanging on his every word, captivated by his stories and charm (kind of like Rasputin in Russia). In stark contrast, Regina, Mary, and Annie struggled to capture even a flicker of interest from the boys in their circle. Despite their genuine efforts — Regina meticulously curating her outfits with vibrant colors, Mary trying to showcase her wit in conversations, and Annie engaging in all the group activities to be seen — they felt like shadows, invisible to the very boys they longed to impress. The boys seemed oblivious, too wrapped up in Hawk's magnetic presence to notice the three girls, leaving them feeling isolated and disheartened.
