Chapter 17

Cloey, Nicole, and Scar finally made it to the mountains.

"Scar have you been here before?" Cloey asked.

"yes but it's been quite a while" he retorted.

Scar grabbed a stick and started whacking thorns in are way.

"Here we are" Scar said

We had found a cave. It was huge, and dark. Nicole felt unsafe and started to overthink. What if we get lost and got stuck in there forever? The thought made her shiver.

"Nicole? You coming?" Scar asked.

Both him and cloey already stepped foot into the cave.

"you guys go without me. I will wait here" Nicole's voice was shaky.

"Nicole," Scar walked up to her. "don't let fear control you. Being afraid is a choice." he looked at her dead in the eye. "so what will you do? Stand here like a damn coward or face your fear? You can't be scared of the world Because it sure ain't afraid of you" he walked back into the cave. Turning into darkness the more further he went.

Scar was right. She couldn't be afraid forever. The whole universe depended on her. Nicole took a deep breath and stepped into the cave. She could hear drops of water tho she wasn't sure where it was coming from.

"hey scar?"

He didn't respond

"scar? cloey"

Still no answer.

She started walking deeper into the cave, her heart pumping faster and faster in fear hoping she would find them.

"hello? Is anybody there?"

She started to panic. She started running towards the direction she came from but didn't see an exit. No. She was lost
She kept yelling their names but the only voice she heard was hers echoing throughout the cave.

I have to face my fears to get though this. It's the only way. I will make scar and my sister proud.

She starts wondering around the cave trying not to think of any creatures that live in there. Her breathing becomes heavier the more further she went. It was all dark. No sunlight. She could barely hear the birds chirping outside the cave. How am I supposed to find this thing when I cant see anything. She trips and collapses into a puddle "ow!" she yelped. "Great now I'm soaked" She felt something in the puddle. The necklace! She grabs it and runs around the cave shouting "I found it I found it!" without thinking about waking up an animal.
