Cloey was sitting down at the dinner table as her mom was cooking dinner. Cloey was waiting for her sister Nicole to come home. She looked over to her mom who was cooking pasta like they have every Thursday. Her mom had a sympathetic look in her green eyes. "I'm sure Nicole will be here soon" mom reassured her. "why don't you go and get me some pasta sauce from the fridge" her mom offered.
Coley nodded and went over to the fridge and opened the door to see the pasta sauce behind a ball of lettuce. She grabbed it and sat it next to her mom who was draining water from the pasta into the sink. "thank you dear." Her mother said but before cloey could respond Nicole walked in through the front doorRight away, cloey ran up and hugged her tightly.
"umm...hello." Nicole said sounding surprised but confused
"hi dear dinner is almost done" her mom told Nicole.Nicole looked from cloey to her mother. "okay" she replied. Cloey sat next to her sister at the dinner table eating the pasta their mother gave them.
"where's dad?" Nicole asked before taking a sip of her water with ice.
"he will be late today." Her mother replied. "there's bad traffic."
"Aww" cloey said.
Cloey looked over at Nicole. She looked disturbed by something, but she tried to remain calm. Her mother seemed to notice to because she said, "is there something wrong Nicole?"
"no...just tired..." Nicole replied although cloey knew it was a lie.
Oh, well, why don't you go lie down for a bit" her mother recommended
Nicole nodded and walked over to her room then shut the door behind her. Cloey felt a pang of sympathy for her. She was her best friend and sister after all.
After dinner cloey walked over to Nicole's door and knocked. "Nicole...its cloey are you okay? You haven't been yourself lately".
"why can't you mind your own damn business?" Nicole replied bitterly.
Cloey ignored her complaint and walked into her sisters' room and sat down on the bed next to her then looked into her icy blue eyes. Her sister was a sophomore in high school, and she was only an 7th grader. Her sister has always been bitter and judgmental but although, deep down inside she was emotional, but She hides it because she thinks it's a sign of weakness.
"you don't need to worry about me" Nicole said. "I'm fine...I'm just worried...I'll be better soon like always. Just go off and do you own thing. I wanna be left alone ...I just need a goodnights rest."
Cloey wondered what she was worried about, but she didn't ask because she knew she'd get angry. Cloey got up and left and closed her sister's door behind her
