The next day you wake up feeling surprisingly well rested. You feel happy. You feel great actually. The thought of seeing Emily and the rest of the team makes you even excited to get out of bed. You throw the blankets off of you and sit up in bed. You take a deep refreshing breath and gaze at the sunlight filling your room. Wow, you felt almost euphoric. Your mood causes you to totally forget about your foot. So when you try to stand pain shoots up your leg. You cry out in surprise and fall to the floor.

"Shit," you say to yourself. A couple seconds later, Charlie bursts into your room.

"Are you alright?" he rushes to your side. "Are you hurt?"

Your happy mood from just a couple seconds ago was obliterated with your fall. "I'm fine," you say angrily gritting your teeth. Your foot still throbbed, but it was slowly getting better. You felt tears swell in your eyes, but you refused to let them fall. You weren't going to let this one bad thing ruin the amazing day you had planned. But it was so difficult. That joyful mood seems so alien now. You couldn't grab hold of that feeling again and it makes you angry. "Can you just help me up, please."

Charlie slowly lifts you up onto your bed. Charlie surprisingly looks on the verge of tears. Sure he could be upset that you'd gotten hurt, but tears seemed like a bit much for the situation.

"Charlie?" you ask him. "What's wrong?"

        He seems hesitant to answer.

"Um, last year. You remember my mom right? Well, she got diagnosed with cancer and one day she tried to get out of bed, but she couldn't walk anymore. Anyway she died two months ago," he finishes not able to look you in the eye. He's wiping away tears as you pull him into a hug.

"I am so sorry, Charlie. I've been so wrapped up in myself and my problems-"

"No, don't be sorry. You had no way of knowing. It's alright."

After a few minutes Charlie has stopped crying and you sit solemnly next to him.

"Well, I know something that will cheer us both up. You need to meet my team. You're going to love them."

He gives you a small smile. "Yeah, okay. I'll go get dressed."

Once he leaves the room, you give each member of the team a call. They're all equally worried about you, but you're finally able to convince them to eat lunch with you at a nearby restaurant. You call Emily last.

        "Prentiss," she says seriously.

"Do I hear an airplane over there or is that just my heart taking off?" you can't help the shit eating grin on your face as you say that.

"Oh my god, I can't believe you just said that," Emily laughs. "How did I end up dating someone so cheesy?"

"I don't know, but if I'm cheesy will you be a pizza so I can lay on top of you?"

You can practically hear Emily's open mouth. You laugh at her incredulous silence.

"Anyway," you continue. "I was able to convince the team to eat lunch at the Winter Windmill. Will I see you there?"

"I don't know, I might have other plans."

        "Oh- well, okay-"

"Relax, the only other plans I have today are possibly taking you to bed." You blush at her words.

        "Alright, I'll see you there."

"See you," Emily replies before you hang up the phone. You smile as you fall back onto your bed. The conversation you just had replaying in your mind. You imagine Emily's expression when you said those cheesy lines. Eventually you get dressed.
