A couple weeks later, Dally had a mental breakdown. Not just one of those homesick breakdowns, he was literally going insane. He started to run in circles and repeat the same thing over and over. Dallas ran over to the train tracks and stood on them, wanting to kill himself and waited for the train to come. He thought it would solve his problems. That gang of greasers were walking by and rushed over to Dally to stop him.

"What are you doin?" The one with the sideburns screamed.

They could all hear the train getting closer. Right then, the one with a lot of muscles pushed Dally out of the way and they both rolled down the tiny hill on the other side of the train tracks.

"What is wrong with you?" He asked Dally.
"I just..." Dally started to cry,
"My dad hates me and he almost shot me and he gets boozed up all the time and I ran away and was arrested when I was ten and my life just sucks." He cried.
"Woah. I didn't expect that out of you!" The one with the sideburns joked.
"Hey, what's your name?" The guy with the muscles asks him.
"Dallas. Dallas Winston." He answered.
"Ok. My name is Darry Curtis. This is Ponyboy, my kid-brother. This is Sodapop, my other kid-brother. This is Two-Bit. This is Steve and this is Johnny." Darry said, comforting Dally.
"Hey, you can hang with us, if you want." Ponyboy added.
"Thanks. And I'm sorry about before. Jail can really make you mean." Dally mumbled.
