Dallas woke up the next morning earlier than usual. He was planning on going to The Dingo before he met Ponyboy and Johnny. Dally always sleeps somewhere different each night. Sometimes it's at the Curtis house, or sometimes outside. Today, he was sleeping at the vacant lot, under some newspapers as a blanket.
When he got to the dingo, he saw someone familiar. Too familiar. When the person turned around, it was Mark. He started heading over to where Dally was standing.
"Hey, Dallas. Here, have this twenty. It's all I can give you so please don't ask for more. Will you come back home?" Mark asked.

You could see the steam coming out of Dally's ears and the fire roaring in his eyes.

"YOU NEVER GET IT DO YOU?" Dallas screamed. "You think money can make up for all you did? You never tell me you love me or anything! All you think is that money will fix everything but it can't!"

Dally stormed out of the dingo and leaned against a pole to lift his cigarette.

"Hey Dally!" Johnny shouted.

Dally jumped, almost scared to death but didn't want to show it so he just leaned against the pole casually.

"We're early." Dally said at last.
"What do you wanna do?" Johnny asked.
"Nothin legal man. Let's go."

Ponyboy, Johnny and Dally started walking down the road to the drive in. They past a store that Dally has been keeping an eye on for a long time. He peered in to see the person who worked there staring back at him. Dally walked away silent, but nobody asked what happened.
