Ball

A couple days later. In Rafe's bedroom. 

Cataleya leaned against a dresser with her arms crossed "i wanna go with you"

Rafe shook his head "no"

She looked confused "as you've been telling me for the past half hour. But why can't i come? It's a normal werewolf ball. ""

Rafe "exactly. uninteresting"

Cat shot back "but you're going"

Rafe "because i have to. "

Cat " what's the occasion?"

He shrugged and nodded over to the couchtable in the room.

Cat looked at it and grabbed a letter. The invite. 

Rafe "The daughter of the alpha of the Diablo Pack is turning 21 tonight"

Cat looked at the letter before nodding "okay. I'll come. "

Rafe breathed out annoyed "no"

She looked at him. 

Rafe " You are wanted by one of the most powerful Alpha's out there, Cataleya. Everyone is searching for you. You are not just gonna walk in there like nothing happened. and by my side."

Cat "i wanted by Gomez. He won't be there, it's not his district"

Rafe "doesn't mean he hasn't other packs searching for you"

Cat "you are just as powerful as Gomez, Rafe. or did you forget?"

Rafe pointed his finger at me "you are staying"

Cat shook her head "I am going. "

Rafe took a deep breath "Tell me this, okay? What happens if one those werewolves recognize you and kidnap you? then what?"

Cat opened her mouth to say something but she knew whatever she said was gonna help her. 

Rafe eyed her before nodding "exactly."

Cat "Fer and Seth are going with you"

He nodded "yes, because I need them there."

Then he walked over to the mirror and fixed his tie. He was glancing at Cat a few times.

Cat looked down before she sighed "I need to see my papa"

Rafe shook his head "you don't"

Cat nodded "i do"

She looked at him through the reflection and met his eyes. 

Rafe "He sold you to Gomez. Treated you like you were nothing more than a car he wanted to sell"

She grimaced since he hit a nerve. He was right but his words cut a little too deep. 

Rafe knew that the way he worded it would cut her deep but he also knew that he had to be this heartless for her to understand the current situation. 

Cat looked down. 

Rafe turned to her "you're not leaving. don't make me lock you in the basement. "

Cat looked at him before walking out. 

Cat's bedroom. 

Cat walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. She had just finished her hair and make up. 

There was a knock on the door. 

Cat called out "entra!" (come in)

The door opened and Fer walked in who was already dressed for the ball.
