Next day. Morning. At the pack house.

Me "did you happen to see my mama while you were down there?"

Eiza looked at me confused "your mama? But your mama is dead?"

I sighed, shaking my head "Gomez is holding my mother hostage. He's using her to turn werewolves into hybrids. He used her blood to make an example out of you. That's why Nick didn't bother to tell me you were alive because he knew you wouldn't survive the transition"

Eiza froze "because your mama is not the original hybrid. It's you. "

I nodded "Yes. Were you able to overhear something? I know you went through shit but please, think about it"

Eiza thought about it "around a week ago I could over hear two of Gomez's betas ranting about something. They were complaining about the boss' bad mood. "

Nick "why was he in a bad mood? Because of Cataleya'?"

Eiza thought about it "Because he's running out of blood. "

I froze.

Eiza shook her head, confused "I thought they were talking about you, Cata. I would've never thought that they were talking about your mama"

I looked at Nick.

Nick shook his head "That was a weak ago, Cat. Don't get your hopes up"

I nodded.

Suddenly Eiza sniffed the air and her eyes turned black.

I asked her confused "Eiza?"

Eiza looked at the closed door, growling "Mate"

I looked at Nick confused.

Suddenly Seth walked in and went to say something but his eyes landed on Eiza and his eyes flashed golden "Mate"

I groaned out annoyed "of course he's your mate"

Nick chuckled.

I glared at him"that's not funny. Like not at all"

Nick nodded "it kinda is"

Seth shook his head, turning back to normal "you have a second?"

Nick nodded and walked out with Seth.

I looked at Eiza "you can turn back now"

Eiza turned back normal.

I asked annoyed "are you serious? him? Your mate? Him?"

Eiza asked confused "why what did he do to you?"

Me "threatened, bullied and tortured me"

Eiza raised her eyebrows "well, then you should complain to the moon goddess about it "

I rolled my eyes.

Nick walked in "Cataleya"

I turned to him "yeah?"

Nick nodded "come with me"

I nodded and walked out with him "what happened?"

Nick "two werewolves were seen near the border."

I froze.

Nick "apparently they were looking for Eiza"

Me "were you able to catch them?"

Nick "one was able to escape. "

Me "and the other one?"

Nick"is dead"

Me "can I see the body? Or did you burn it already?"

Nick rolled his eyes "sure"

In the lab.

I walked over to the dead werewolf body.

Nick "they must've followed Eiza's blood trail all the way to us"

I nodded "They wanted to know if I was able to save her – to turn her into a hybrid"

Nick nodded.

Me "how close did they get to the mansion?"

Nick shrugged "I don't know. I don't know what they saw or what they heard. But I am pretty sure they were able to overhear my pack chatting about what you did."

Me "Gossip. What a great pack you have, alfa"

Nick "they may be werewolves but they are still teenagers and young adults. Gossip's a part of them"

I snapped a little "then maybe you should have told them that you can't talk about things like that in times like this"

Nick "Well, I have other things to take care of, Cataleya"

Me "like what?"

Nick "trying get my brother back. Saving your ass. "

I snapped "for what do you have a second – in –command if you're not using him?"

Nick "well, for what do I have a mate – a Luna if she doesn't do what she's supposed to do. "

I shook my head "I never asked to become your Luna – let alone becoming your mate"

Nick nodded "oh, I trust me, I know how much you despise that bond"

I just looked at the bod.

It went silent.

Nick "I will talk to them"

Me "you mean you will let Seth talk to them, since you're busy protecting my ass"

Nick shook his head "no, I will talk to them myself"

I looked at him confused "you don't have time for that"

Nick nodded "Then I will take the time"

I nodded and looked back to the body "He knows what I did."

Nick looked down.

I asked confused "what?"

Nick shook his head "I can't tell you how much he knows now. "

Me "But..?"

Nick "we all heard the rumors"

I looked at him confused "rumors?"

Nick asked confused "you don't know?"

I shook my head.

Nick "around the time you were born rumors started to spread among the packs. About a baby that was born half vampire and half werewolf. A hybrid. Rumors said that you were able to turn other were werewolves into hybrids"

I asked confused "but why were they rumors? I turned my mother while I was her womb"

Nick shrugged "I don't know. Maybe they thought your mother was the original hybrid, like I said they were rumors. But since you were still a baby at the time no one knew for sure if you were able to turn others. "

Me "and when I turned Eiza.."

Nick nodded "you confirmed the rumors."

I looked at Nick with wide eyes "He'll come for me"

Nick scoffed "he can try"

Suddenly I saw that there was a finger missing from the corpse.

I asked confused "did you cut the finger off? Why did you cut his finger off?"

Nick looked at the hand, shrugging "they brought him in like that. Ask Seth"

I scoffed, shaking my head "yeah no"
