You were walking to school by yourself...again. Your relationship with your boyfriend, Joe Tazuna, was falling apart. You've been together for a little over a year and a half now, and for the past two months he's been distancing himself. At first you brushed it off as him being in a bad mood, but now he's been blatantly ignoring you. When you try to talk to him about it all he does is end the conversation as fast as he could before walking away to go speak to his friends. You kept thinking about it as you walked to school. "What did I do..? Am I not good enough anymore?" You thought to yourself. After a few minutes you arrived at school and made eye contact with Joe before he looked away from you and walked away. You sighed and walked to your class.
In class you were passing notes with your close friend, Ranmaru. "Do you think he's with someone else? He fell out of love with me?" You wrote on a small piece of paper before handing it to Ranmaru. "I doubt it. Joe doesn't seem like that kind of guy. Maybe something's been happening at home? Or maybe he's just been upset lately." Ranmaru wrote before he passed the paper back. You sighed and decided you would just talk to Ranmaru about it at lunch.
(Time skip, lunch time)
"Ranmaru, what do I doooo?" You frowned and looked at him. "I don't know what I did wrong, we were happy together and then he suddenly distanced himself from me. He won't even talk to me anymore." You saw Joe walking by your lunch table. He wouldn't look at you as he walked over to a table to sit with Sara, Ryoko, and a few of his other friends. "Maybe leave a note in his locker but sign it as anonymous so he doesn't know it's you? Tell him to meet you somewhere so you two can finally talk about it." Ranmaru suggested. "Yeah alright, I'll try that." You said as you got up from your table. "I'll see you in class, i have a notepad in my locker so I can go write his note." You waved goodbye as you walked to your locker.
When you put the combination in and opened it, you saw that there already was a note in your locker from Joe. The note said:
Hey Y/n,
Please meet me at the school gates when schools over.
We need to talk.
-Joe
You read the note and sighed. "I hope this goes well." You thought before you put the note in your pocket and walked to your next class. When you got to class you and Ranmaru passed a few notes about what Joe could want to talk to you about. You assumed he might want to apologize for ignoring you or he's gonna break up with you. But you weren't sure. You passed a few more notes before paying attention to your class.
(Time Skip: After School)
You walked to the school gates and saw Joe waiting there. He wouldn't make eye contact with you as he sighed.
"Y/n...We really need to talk." He said, still not looking you in the eye. "I know I've been distant for the past few months and I'm sorry. But I think we need to break up."
Those words hit you like a train. You expected it but it hurt so much more actually hearing him say it. You didn't want him to see you cry so you held it in, your voice cracked slightly as you spoke. "I understand. May I ask why?" You felt the tears threatening to go down your cheeks but you really tried your best to ignore it. "Well- I just- I kissed another girl...And I've felt so bad about it I can't talk to you anymore without feeling horrible. I'm so sorry Y/n. But after what I did I don't think our relationship will work out." As he said that you were in shock. He cheated on you..? That was it, you couldn't hold your tears back anymore as they rolled down your cheeks. Joe finally looked you in the eye and saw you crying, he instantly felt guilty. "Y/n I'm sorr-" You cut him off through your sobs. "No it's okay. I understand. I hope you're happy with whoever you end up with next." You gave him a sad smile before quickly rushing home.
As soon as you got into your house you went into your room and cried. You didn't stop crying as you thought about all the happy times you two shared, and it was all over now. You would never get any happy memories like that with Joe ever again. You couldn't sleep that night, you just sat on your bed either crying or silently replaying those memories in your head.
