(A/N: I have risen from the dead to write this for yall, happy new years -Rio)
2021 has had its up and downs, one of the best things that happened this year, is that you started dating your boyfriend, Jou Tazuna. You were actually waiting for him right now, you two planned to spend New Years together. You were excited honestly, not only to spend New Years with your beloved, but also just to see what the new year holds. You were ready for a fresh start.
But as you were getting lost in your thoughts, you heard a knock on your door. You quickly rushed over to the door to open it. You opened the door to see your boyfriend smiling brightly at you. "Hey Y/N! Sorry Im a little late!" He scratched the back of his head. "Hehe, its fine! Come on in Tazuna." You said as you moved out of the way to let him in. He walked in and you two headed to your room. "So what should we do first?" He asked you as you both sat on your bed. "Wanna exchange gifts first?" You asked him with a smile. "Sure!" He replied."
You went over to your dresser and took a small box off of it before walking back over to Joe. "Here you go! I hope you like it!" You handed the small gift box to him happily. He looked at the box with curiosity, he opened it to see a cat keychain. "Awww, Y/N I love it! It can be friends with my dog keychain!" He beamed happily as he put the cat keychain in his pocket next to the dog keychain. "Im glad you liked it." You said with relief in your voice. Tazuna then put a gift box in your hands, you noticed it was for favorite color. You opened the box to see a bracelet you've been wanting. "Aww, thanks a lot! Ive been wanting this!" You put the bracelet on with excitement before hugging your boyfriend. "I noticed you looking at it a lot everytime we went to the store, so I thought it would be a perfect New Years gift." He said as he hugged you back. After a few seconds you pulled away from the hug and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You wanna go watch fireworks now?" You recommended. "Sure!" He exclaimed as he got off of your bed and you two put hoodies on since it was cold outside.
The two of you went to a park where they would be lighting fireworks, you also got sodas on the way. You two sat down on the grass and waited for them to start the firework show. "You know Y/N, Im really grateful to have gone through this year with you by my side. You mean a lot to me, yknow." It came out in an awkward yet cute tone. You knew Joe wasnt good with all that lovey-dovey mushy stuff, so you appreciated the gesture, "Awww, Im grateful to have spent this year with you too Tazuna. I dont know what I wouldve done without you there with me." You said sweetly. You leaned your head on his shoulder as the fireworks started.
You two sat there, enjoying eachothers presence and the colorful lights in front of you. You were there for quite a while before the two of you decided to head out early so you could watch the countdown in your room. The two of you soon arrived back to your place and got comfy, sitting on your bed once again as you turned on your TV. You watched the performances on the channel, occasionally singing along to the songs you knew.
Before you knew it, the countdown was starting. "10....9....8..7..6...5...4...3...2..1....Happy New Year!" You and Joe said in universe. He then leaned in and kissed you. You were caught off guard but you did in fact kiss him back. It was your first New Years kiss, and you wouldnt rather it be anyone else but Joe right now. You both soon pulled away. "I love you Y/N, Happy New Year" He smiled at you, ignoring the fact his face was really red from the kiss you shared a few seconds ago.
"I love you too Tazuna, Happy New Year."
