🔪 Chapter 11: Lunch Table (UPDATED)

Aurora's POV

It took me a while to look for the cafeteria and I texted Eddie and Heather that I was almost there.

I feel an arm wrapped around my shoulder, I flinched before looking up and realizing it was just Eddie.

"Hey babe." He said, giving me a quick kiss on my cheek. Even though we dated for a long time and I should be used to this, my cheeks would still burn up every single time without a fail.

The little things he does always make my heart skip a beat and feel butterflies in my stomach.

"Hey, you scared me. How was class?" I said.

"Hmm... pretty boring and looks like we need to get used to the long-hour lectures. You?"

"Same, nothing much happened obviously."

He let out a chuckle and we saw Heather waiting with her arms crossed, right in front of the cafeteria doors.

"What have you two lovebirds been doing while I was waiting outside?" She asked, obviously teasing us.

"Nothing really, Heather Feather. Just asking about classes." Eddie said.

"Okay first - stop calling me by that nickname cause it's getting old. And second - I'm hungry so let's just go." She said, walking towards the doors and we just shook our heads and followed her.

We head inside and we wait in line to get our food.

There aren't many students due to the different schedules system. Some would have their lunches early and some would have their lunches a little bit later.

Looks like Heather, Eddie, and I have lunch at around the same time.

After grabbing our food, we started looking for a table.

I look around and I saw Cora eating by herself with her head down, looking tense, and poking her food with a fork.

"Oh, there's Cora. We have two classes together earlier. Should we go there and ask if we could sit with her?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure," Heather said.

"You go first, Ro." Eddie said.

I nodded and walked towards Cora.

"Hey, Cora." I said to her and she quickly looked up from her food.

"Oh hey Aurora, what's up?" She asked.

"I was wondering if we could have lunch with you."

"We?" She asked.

"Oh sorry. We as in you, me, Heather, and Eddie over there." I said, looking back at them.

They smile and wave at us.

"Um, sure. I don't mind." Cora said.

I gestured my friends to come closer to the table and we put our trays down. Heather ended up sitting next to Cora since she always wanted me and Eddie to sit next to each other, which I don't mind actually.

"Cora, this is Heather - my best friend," I said.

Cora and Heather look at each other and Heather puts her hand out for Cora to shake.

"Hey, nice to meet you," Heather said.

They shook hands together and Cora let out a nervous chuckle.

"Same here," Cora said to Heather.

"And this is my boyfriend, Eddie," I said before letting out a small laugh.

"Hello Cora, nice to meet you," Eddie said and they shook hands together.
