IN LACEY'S CAR
Lacey and Anna have arrived at Lacey's sister, Lake's house.
Anna parks the car on the street.

ANNA:
Okay, are you ready to do this?

LACEY:
I think so.

ANNA:
You remember our game plan?

LACEY:
Yes.

ANNA:
Okay, good. Let's go.

Lacey and Anna get out of the car together. Anna walks around to Lacey's side and grabs her hand. They walk right next to each other the whole way to the front door.

LACEY:
Okay who's gonna knock?

ANNA:
I can.

Anna knocks on the door. They wait for it to open.
Lacey's heart starts beating fast again. She takes a deep breath in and out right before the door opens.

LAKE:
Oh, hi, Lacey. What brings you up here?

Anna looks at Lacey but she's frozen. She can't speak.

ANNA:
Hey, uh, I'll just do the talking. Is that okay Lacey?

Lacey nods her head yes.

ANNA:
Um, hi. My name is Anna. And I'm here with Lacey because we found out that Ryan, Lacey's husband, has been staying here with her son Liam? Is that true?

LAKE:
Um.

Liam walks up to the door.

LIAM:
Hi mommy!

Lacey breaks out of her trance.

LACEY:
Hi, Liam. How are you bud?

Lacey gives Liam a big hug. A hug that she'll never forget.

LIAM:
Good.

LACEY:
I heard that you and daddy have been staying with auntie Lake?

LIAM:
Yeah!

LAKE:
Look, I don't know why you're here, because Ryan told me that you kicked him out of the house and ran off with, I'm guessing her?

Lake points at Anna.

Anna looks confused.

ANNA:
Lacey, is that true?

LACEY:
Liam go off and play. No, that is not true. What happened was Ryan stormed out of the house because of little note she wrote me.

ANNA:
Oh so this is my fault now?

LACEY:
No, Anna, no it's not at all. Just listen. Lake, whatever Ryan told you was a lie. And you can trust me on that. I'm just here because I want to see my son. I miss him so much. And, I just want to have him and to be with him.

LAKE:
So, you're here to take Liam back?

LACEY:
Yeah. Pretty much. Where is Ryan anyways?

LAKE:
Well, to be honest, I don't really know. He said he was going golfing this morning. But it's been six hours.

LACEY:
That's what he said to me, every weekend he'd say that he was going golfing, and I believed him. But, was he actually-

LAKE:
Yeah. He was sleeping with me. And now, Lace, I regret that. I should never have done that to you. You deserve much, much better.

LACEY:
Yeah. I did. But, I'm mainly here to take my son back home, so, can I bring my son home please?

LAKE:
Yes, of course. Lacey I'm so sorry all of this happened.

LACEY:
I am too. And just forget about Ryan. If he never comes back, good. Let him live his life going woman to woman.

LAKE:
Psh, yeah. He can do whatever he wants now that he's out of our lives. Anyways, Liam, go pack your bags, you're going home with your mom.

Lacey and Anna smile reassuringly at each other.
Liam comes back with his bag packed and a toy in his other hand.

LIAM:
I'm ready to go mom.

LACEY:
Okay, sweetie. Let's go. Thank you, Lake, for taking care of Liam. Thank you.

LAKE:
No problem. He's a good kid.

LACEY:
Okay wave goodbye to auntie Lake!

LIAM:
Bye auntie Lake!

They walk to the car. Liam looks up at Anna.

LIAM:
Who are you?

ANNA:
Uh-

LACEY:
That is Anna. She is a friend of mine. She wanted to come on the trip with me.

LIAM:
Okay. Hi Anna. What's your favorite color?

ANNA:
Green. What about you?

LIAM:
Mine is also green! That's so cool.

ANNA:
That is cool.

The three of them pile into the car to go back home.
