What Will You Have?

AT THE HOSPITAL
It's the next morning, the same routine. Lacey's nurse comes in and gives her her medication. Anna watches as the nurse asks how she's feeling. 'How are you feeling', the same question that has been asked a million times in the past two days. 'I feel fine', the same response Lacey has given each time she gets asked. Lacey is getting sick of the hospital already. She's hoping that she can go home today.
Lacey thinks this as she takes her medication.

LACEY:
When can I go home? Because I really want to go home today.

NURSE:
Well, we will need to talk to your doctor before we determine anything.

LACEY:
Can I speak to my doctor now then?

NURSE:
I'll see if he's available.

The nurse leaves to find the doctor.
Anna looks over at Lacey. Lacey looks kind of sad.

ANNA:
What's wrong?

LACEY:
Anna I just want to get out of here so bad.

Lacey starts to cry. Anna gets up and walks over and sits on the side of the bed. She grabs Lacey's hand with both of her own hands.

ANNA:
I know. I don't like seeing you here either.

Anna wipes Lacey's tears. Just like how she did when Lacey was upset about Ryan.
Lacey tries to smile.

LACEY:
Thanks.

Anna opens her arms for a hug. Lacey allows it and gives her a hug. Lacey's tears make Anna's shirt wet.

LACEY:
I love you.

ANNA:
I love you too, babe.

They end the hug. Anna gives Lacey a kiss.
Then the doctor walks in.

DOCTOR:
Um, hello. I'm Dr. Hugo.

Anna sees him and sits in the chair next to the bed.

LACEY:
Hi.

DR. HUGO:
Lacey, I have looked at your chart, and it looks like you're doing pretty good. I think that you will be able to go home today.

LACEY:
Really?

Dr. Hugo nods.

LACEY:
Oh my gosh thank you! Thank you so much!

ANNA:
Yes thank you Dr. Hugo. Um, what time?

DR. HUGO:
Well, really whenever you want. But I'd recommend around noon.

LACEY:
Okay thank you so much! Really, thank you.

The doctor smiles and leaves. As soon as the door closes Lacey looks at Anna with the biggest grin on her face.

LACEY:
Ahhh! Yay! I'm so glad I get to leave soon!

ANNA:
Me too! But just remember that it will take some time for you to fully heal. So take it easy.

LACEY:
Does that mean that we can't, y'know...

ANNA:
Psh, no. Of course not.

LACEY:
Okay good.
