Day three

Dear Rae,

I can see a beautiful day from my window, all thanks to you for decorating the room so beautifully. The soup you prepared is simply delightful, especially in this kind of weather; it's like a comforting remedy for me.

I find it fascinating how I can't seem to stop writing to you. It feels like I'm keeping a diary, but it's also become a therapeutic practice for me, allowing me to express my thoughts and feelings every morning.

By the way, I hope you're feeling okay working around the house. I worry that I may have unintentionally overworked you. Please don't hesitate to tell me how you feel; I want you to feel comfortable and at ease here. Remember, you're not my official maid, so it wouldn't be fair to burden you with too much work. Take good care of yourself, especially with the recent rain and occasional heat. Your well-being matters a lot to me.

Once again, thank you for brightening my day, each and every day. Your presence and efforts mean the world to me.

MR HOMEOWNER

------------------------------

Dear Mr. Home Owner,

I'm glad you love the decoration I did for your room. Since it has a dark, black effect, I added some cacti by the window to give it a fresh look when you enter.

Thank you for the compliment. The soup is actually my late mom's recipe. She always made it for me whenever I caught a cold. Oh, and if you find it therapeutic, feel free to keep writing to me. I don't mind replying every day. It's also fun getting to know you in this way since we haven't officially met.

No need to worry about me. I've been spending a lot of time in your house, and now it feels like my own. Hehe. You haven't really given me many tasks, so I sometimes feel a bit shy as it seems like you're letting me be lazy even though I'm supposed to be your maid for a week. You did pay me, right?

Thanks again for your concern about me. I'll make sure to take care of my health so that I can continue coming to your house until the end of my contract. By the way, I made some vanilla flan. Please enjoy it!

Day four

Dear Rae,

I accidentally knocked over a window and smashed the cactus. I'm sorry, but I'll need to replace it with a new pot. The flan is superb; even my brother is now a fan of yours!

Lately, due to the rain, my floor is kinda dirty. So, I apologize for making your day harder, as you have to wipe the floor every day.

Oh, I found a beautiful scarf at the flea market last week, so I decided to buy it for you. I hope you will like it. It's a wonderful day, and summer is almost here. I hope you'll enjoy your summer holiday. Do you have any plans yet?

MR HOMEOWNER

---------------------------------

Dear Mr. Home Owner,

The cactus looks almost dead. Are you sure you planted it correctly? I already fixed it for you. The new vase looks so cute with the cat paw print on it. I'm glad you love the flan. I thought you were not a sweet tooth, so I'm happy that you enjoyed it so much. The scarf looks beautiful, and you chose the correct color for me. I took a selfie wearing it and included the picture along with this letter. As for summer plans, I don't have anything specific in mind yet. If you have any plans, please do share them with me...

Day five

Dear Rae,

You look beautiful in that scarf. Gosh, why did you include the picture with the letter? I almost can't sleep because of it! Hehe. I'll keep the picture if you don't mind. I guess that picture is for me, isn't it?

P/s: The ttoekbokki is quite spicy. My brother cried his eyes out when he ate them. I asked him to stop, but he refused because it was tasty as hell...

MR HOMEOWNER

-----------------------------------

"Aish!" Rae holds her temple, feeling flustered. She didn't mean to give the picture to him. She just wanted to show how pretty the scarf is. Now she can't get it back.

"I'll ask him to return it later," she mumbles to herself.

Rae continues her work and starts looking around for a new wiping cloth.

"Storage room..." she mutters and walks into the small room at the back. She flicks on the switch and scans the room for a new wiping cloth. Her eyes suddenly catch something rolled up and tucked between two cupboards. She takes out the roll and unties the ribbon.

Reese gasps when she finds out it is a beautiful drawing. The artwork has a pink background with a huge tree, and there are two people sitting under the tree, seemingly kissing. It is a sweet and dreamy painting.

"Why is he keeping this beauty in the storage room? What a waste!" she wonders.

She comes out from the storage room with a wiping cloth and the painting in her hands.
--------------------------

Dear Mr. Home Owner,

I hope you can return the picture to me. I'm sorry if the picture is causing you sleepless nights. I just wanted to show you how beautiful the scarf is. I hope you can return the picture before the contract ends.

By the way, did you realize that you had a stunning painting in your storage? I was worried it might get damaged just sitting there, so I took it to my friend's shop. We put it in a nice frame and hung it in the living room. I hope you don't mind.

As our contract is coming to an end, I apologize if I provided less than satisfactory service. It has been a new and valuable experience working for you, and I'm going to miss all of this. Thank you for being such a good homeowner.

"How long are you gonna stare at that, huh?" asks Joe, looking at Youn, who holds a picture in his hand. The girl in the photo smiles, wearing a pink scarf with a gold chain pattern. She looks ethereal, just like the first time he met her, 10 years ago.

"Does she know?" Joe asks.

"I never show myself at home out of the blue, and I keep all my photo albums at my office. So, she has no idea," Youn replies.

This is something unexpected. Initially, he just wanted to meet the owner of the painting to negotiate with her about it. But to his surprise, the painter turns out to be someone he has missed so much all these years. So, he changes his plan. He decides to slowly approach her before making another encounter.

"I hope you can just tell her the truth soon. You know she hates something like this. I feel guilty for keeping this away from her, too," says Joe, who got involved in all of this. He was confused at first about why Youn was acting so strangely during the auction. Joe worked hard to ensure that the painting didn't fall into the wrong hands. He even dared to put the highest bid on record. Ten thousand dollars is not a small figure.

When he managed to win the auction, he immediately met Youn and explained everything, from the beginning to the end. Joe was shocked at first, but later he understood the whole story. Now, he understands Rae's entire life story. It's like a piece of the puzzle that completes the whole picture.

"I'll tell her soon," said Youn, taking out a deck of cards from his bag, the notes that he exchanged with Rae. He treasures them so much!

"I'll make it right this time."
