"Rae!! Rae!!!" she ran out from Taylor's room. Finn looked at her with bloodshot eyes. She winced as he approached her.

"Where is breakfast?!" he demanded.

"Sorry, I was just about to make it..." Her words were met with a hard slap across her face, sending her sprawling to the floor.

"Do you think I keep you in this house to laze around?!" he barked, his voice harsh and unyielding.

"I'm sorry, Dad, but Tay isn't well... I need to take care of him..." she managed to say, trying to stand up.

"Stop giving excuses! If you're lazy, just admit it! I wish I could've just killed you when you were a baby! You're nothing but a worthless burden, a huge mistake!" he scoffed.

"Just wait here, I'm making you something..."

"Forget it! I'm leaving! And remember, tonight my friends are coming over, so fix something for dinner!" Finn angrily put on his boots and stormed out of the house.

She slowly walked back inside, nursing the pain from the slap on her cheek.

Laughter echoed through the dining room as Rae composed herself and served a group of men at the table.

"What's with the sluggish moves?! Hurry up!!" she flinched as she placed some food on Finn's plate.

"It's okay, I can serve myself," said one of the men, noticeably younger than the rest.

"No need! She can do it; she's just being lazy!" Rae quickly grabbed the plate for him, but unfortunately, it slipped from her hand and smashed on the floor.

"Fuck!! What's wrong with you?!"

"Finn, control yourself, man... It's fine, Rae. I can get myself a new plate," said the young man, trying to diffuse the tension.

"Just stay where you are, Gil! Let her clean up this mess. Fucking useless bitch!" Rae dismissed herself into the kitchen, grabbed a broom, and began sweeping away the shattered glass.

"I'm sorry..."

"Just fucking leave!" With that, she hurriedly left the four men to enjoy their dinner.

"You shouldn't treat your daughter like that, Finn," Mike spoke up, disapprovingly.

"Shut up, Mike! I know what I'm doing! Stay away from my family business!" Finn glared at him.

"If you hate her so much, why don't you just let her marry someone who can take care of her? Problem solved," suggested Gil, feeling pity for the young girl.

"What? Married? Hah, no man would want to marry an ugly girl like her! She may look naive, but she's always bitching around. I don't think any man would take her as a wife. She's nothing but a burden!" said Finn, his words filled with venom.

"How did you know she's bitching around? You're barely home, and you don't even care about her," Danny, who sat in front of him, pointed out.

"I know she's seeing boys behind my back! She's probably sleeping with them too! She's a bitch, just like her mother!" There was nothing left for them to say. Finn's hatred towards Rae was palpable; it seemed like he held some kind of deep-seated revenge against her.

"Hi..." Gil entered the kitchen, and Rae was washing dishes. She stuttered slightly as the man came close to her.

"Just put it there, Uncle Gil."

"It's fine. I always do the dishes at home, especially after my Luna went to college last month. I have to do all the house chores by myself," he smiled, fondly thinking about his daughter.
