34: Jackson And Rae - Crumbling

She looked at the deep blue oil paint that splashed on the canvas. She gazed at it in deep thought, as if the canvas was telling her story from its point of view.

She just stared at it, not even moving the brush that she held in her fingers. She was immersed in her thoughts, contemplating her emotions. Emptiness had taken over, and she felt a hole in her heart that could never be filled.

"Baby.." someone patted her shoulder. She looked up, gazing at the man who smiled at her. She immediately stood up and gave him a small bow.

"Welcome home, Jack.." the man pulled her into his embrace without any warning, giving her a warm hug. He kissed her head a few times.

"How are you today?"

"I'm fine.."

"Oh... it's done! Finally, your twins are complete!" Jackson touched the blue canvas, mesmerized by the talent his wife possessed.

"What's the name?" he asked her. Rae looked at it with no expression, but one word came to her mind, reflecting her current feelings.

"Depth," she said, caressing the blue painting.

"Nice! Drowning... Depth.... Looks like a series, isn't it?" Jackson hugged her from behind.

"Jack.."

"Yes?"

"Are you disappointed in me?" she asked him. He turned her face towards him slowly, kissing her forehead with love.

"Nope. I'm proud of you. Really," he smiled. Rae looked deep into his eyes, holding back a deep sigh.

"But the doctor said.."

"He can say whatever he wants, but he can't separate me from you. I only love you, and nothing else matters," said Jackson.

She suddenly felt guilty. For the past five years, Jackson had treated her well and never forced her to love him. He was always sincere in expressing himself. She had been unjust to him. She should treat him right, especially when he was still by her side when she felt most lacking.

"We have your results, Young Master... Lady.." the doctor sat in front of them. They waited anxiously for the results.

"Young Master, you have nothing to worry about. You are healthy. But... Lady Yu... Well.."

"What's wrong, doctor?"

"Thank you, doctor.." Jackson grabbed her hand and walked out of the room.
