It's summer, yet the rain is pouring down now. He leans against the window, observing as raindrops slide gracefully on the glass. Clutching his coffee mug, he takes a moment to appreciate the serene scenery.

Rose Town boasts such a beautiful landscape.

Placing the lip balm next to the cactus pot, he gazes at it, feeling a swell of emotion. His eyes start to well up with tears. He picks up the lip balm again, holding it in his palm, caressing it gently. In an instant, an old memory rushes back, vivid as ever.

A memory he knows he can never forget.

A memory that will stay with him for the rest of his life.

He waited for her in front of the art shop. It was almost five o'clock, and he knew she might get out anytime soon.

And there she was, wearing a white t-shirt and jeans, her not-so-long hair in a bun, clutching her bag tight. He approached her with a wide smile across his face.

"Hi, Rae!"

"Now you upgraded your stalking location, huh? What were you doing here?" she was taken aback, but there was not much she could do at the moment.

"I'm sending you home today. But before that, I wanted to take you out for a walk..." he said, leaning towards her, but she pushed him away slowly.

"No need to be so close! And I don't want to. I need to go home right now!" she hurried. But Youn managed to grab her wrist.

"No need to rush. Your brother isn't home yet."

"How did you know?! Were you stalking us now? You're creepy, you know!" Rae pulled her hand away.

"Your brother had a sports day today. His school borrowed our school field, so I kinda know the schedule," said Youn, giving her a big grin.

"How can you be so sure that was my brother's school? Who knows, maybe you got it wrong?" Rae asked him, crossing her arms on her chest. Youn just chuckled.

"I might have looked sleepy and sluggish, but I'm not stupid, okay. There's only one primary school in this area. And the next one is a few hundred miles away from here," he didn't need some lame research when it came to this area. He was born and raised here. Which road had he not walked onto? He knew every crook of this town!

"Still, I need to get home right now..." said Rae, walking past him.

"Why are you so hard to get?"

"Why are you always being pushy?"

"I just wanted to be friends! Was that wrong?" asked Youn. Rae stopped walking and turned back, looking straight into his eyes.

"Boys and girls can't be friends, Youn..." she said it with a sorrowful voice.

"Since when did they make this rule? I mean, friendship is just like an open sea. There's no such thing as boys or girls, older or younger. The only thing that we need to consider is whether the person is a good influencer or not," said Youn.

Rae felt dizzy right then. She didn't even know what else to explain. She bit her lips and inhaled a deep breath.

"Look, it's not that I didn't want to... there's something that I just couldn't explain. I'm sorry if I hurt you, but I think it's better if we just ignore each other, okay?" she said as she walked away.

Am I pushing her too much?

Youn began to question himself.
