Ever since the entrance exam fiasco it was nonstop work for Y/n. From her part time work to her research about Kira, and above all Ryuk. After their talk it was as if the barrier between them had broken. Ryuk was there for her as she was for him. She would hear him mutter her name from time to time and every time his tone would change. For her it was endearing, a friend who had her back and clearly cared for her in a way beyond any human could. He was the reason for her sudden happiness, and it only grew with the demanding work she put into her Kira investigation.
Ryuk was forbidden from telling her the details of other humans like their death date and names, and she didn't hold it against him. She knew his loyalty lied with her at the end of the day.
Regardless of that she knew who Kira was by the end of the second day of Ryuk telling her. And it was none other than Light Yagami. It was so painstakingly obvious that she almost wanted to pull her hair out and curse the detectives on the case. It was even more obvious after seeing the guy at the entrance exam, who she now assumed was Light.
Not to mention every killing was timed to ensure the most names within a highschoolers schedule. She was close to thinking both Kira and the detective teams were stupid. And because every killing was time based in a sense; she had asked Ryuk about it only for him to confirm her suspicions. Which only frustrated her more when she saw the obvious scheduling in Kira's work.
"yeah, he's definitely stupid..." she grumbled. To make things worse she couldn't help but feel painstakingly jealous of Light. Not because he was Kira but because he had taken Ryuk's attention more than not.
Ryuk had gotten 'anxious' about the thought of Light finding out about her connections with Ryuk after Light had confronted him sometime after the exam. So much so Ryuk had questioned her if she was willing to take over being Kira! Ryuk killing Light was something she wasn't necessarily against but it threw out the excitement of the game. How fun it was for Light to think of himself as a cat when he was a mouse all this time.
She couldn't help but compare it to that one manga she really liked called 'Naruto,' the Akatsuki had a double agent which in this case was the police detectives, the leader Pein, Kira and then the true leader Madara (her) who wasn't actually Madara...but the point still applied!!
She took a deep breath as she looked to the side of her desk right at her clock. It was late in the afternoon, the perfect time to avoid the lunch rush. So why not treat herself after dedicating time and effort to the case.
The bustling streets and large buildings were a dramatic contrast to the quiet neighborhood she lived in. It was nice to be near other people other than Ryuk and her classmates. Of course, it still sucked being overwhelmed by the contrast of colors of every person's feelings but it is what it is.
