'What did he say???' Y/n mouth gaped open, her head snaped towards Ryuga now known as L. Ryuk was Kackling in the background, while Lights aura seemed to get darker and more intense by the second.
'Just why is he admitting this? And not to be over dramatic but why Light? Sure He's smart but what can he truly do? Is this my first case of Nepotism?' Y/n glances past L as she stares at Light waiting for his reaction.
'He's a serial killer, just what will he do? Is he rejoicing from his potential victory, or is he fearing the unknown?' She watched as his aura mellowed out, anxiety mixed with attentiveness lingered throughout his person. Glancing back at L she hesitantly cleared her throat.
"Are you really who you say you are?" Lights body remained tense as L unworriedly looked towards her and responded with a firm,
"Yes." Light looked over to the both of them, glancing at Y/n for a second longer before responding to L,
"If you really are L, then you have nothing but my respect and admiration." Y/n could hear Ryuk Kackle in the background, he knew what Light said was utterly untrue.
"Thank you." L began "I chose to reveal my identity to you both, because I think you could be of help to us in the investigation." Y/n hummed to herself, slouching in shock, just how did an entrance ceremony turn into a meet and greet for L?
She couldn't help but glance back at L as he haphazardly began to zone out and enter his own little world. She couldn't believe his reasoning, and not just because his aura said so. She wanted to know exactly why he pursued Light and herself. Were they under investigation of being Kira? It wasn't unlikely. Especially if L is as smart as they say, and with his test scores he's at least halfway there to being the real deal. Not to mention regardless if it were just luck or intentional, L using a celebrity name saved him, or better said gave him more protection against the death note. What she didn't understand was why she may be under investigation. Was it because of her unusual past? She needed to get to the bottom of this, without looking suspicions.
"If he's really L like he says consider me impressed!" Breaking out of her thoughts she half-heartedly glanced towards Ryuk, acknowledging what he said. Light remained impassive to Ryuks' taunting as he was in his own world as well.
'For being the opposites of each other they sure do like to zone out' glancing back in front of her she sighs. 'this is so awkward, why is no one speaking?? We are in a ceremony but...the conversation just fell flat."

For the remainder of the Ceremony the three stayed silent, no glances or shared whispers, pure silence engulfed them. Towards the end of the event Y/n made sure to keep up with Light as he left the Ceremonial hall. Walking down the steps she managed to keep up with him as she called out his name.
