Chapter five

"Wait why would we ever need-" I was cut off yet again by a noise coming from a building in the centre of the "glade". I turned to look. A girl was running as fast as she could toward us.
The girl retched us. She was panting hard, managed to say...
"Flo....it's....its....Annie..."
And then collapsed to the ground. Flo looked at the girl, then looked at me.
"I'm sorry greenie...I need to go.." She looked at Lena and Audrey
"...Lena come with me, Audrey stay here and help Mia" and with that Flo and Lena were off. Audrey instantly fell to the floor and took a better look at...'Mia'. The girl was breathing heavily trying desperately to get some air into her lungs.
"Oh Mia...you shouldn't have run...you know what Sophia said..." She murmured under her breath.
"What?" I asked.
She jumped slightly when she heard my voice.
"Jeez shank! Forgot you where there for a second"
"Why shouldn't she have run?" I asked again.
"Cause she can't...no one knows why but she can't run a cross the glade without collapsing....she used to be and runner but then..." The girl had been staring into space but suddenly was brought to her senses.
"Uh I mean...um shouldn't be telling you this greenie" she said blushing.
Why not? What was she about you say? Until what? What happened to Mia?
Audrey looked at Mia again.
"I'm sorry greenie, I'm gonna have to take her to see Sophia" she howled Mia to her feet.
"Just...stay here" she shouted as she pulled Mia toward the centre of the glade. I watched as Audrey and Mia until they disappeared into the small building. I was tired now. The day had been a long one. The sky was growing darker every second. I walked slowly back to the tree where I had sat with Flo. I sat and watched the sun slowly set over my new home.
