(OoO S2) My Once Upon a Time

Bryan pov

With shaking hands I keep pushing out the magic of the soul crystal to stop the Seductive Rose, I can feel my soul cracking under the strain but it's laugh keeps continuing as it pushes back on my magic with it's own. Tears cause my eyes to sting my breath labored, but i don't stop, the Rose's laughs begin to change to angered noises before it states with a voice laced in venom, "i grow tired of this game Bryan." it's hands move the sword itself just the slightest of fractions making it instead of a blocking method a reflective method. I watch in horror as my magic bounces off the Rose's blade and slam into a group of my friends. Their screams pierce my core, my wing flaps stutter and i quickly land calling to my friends "INPU! XYLO! DRANNE! RICARRO!" as my power dampens out their forms are revealed to me and i choke out a sob. Stone, they're all stone statues. The Rose laughs from above me "oh how perfect! You're little friends are gone, who's fault is that!?" i growl, turning to face it only for it to be gone, it laughs once more, voice ringing all around me "let's play again sometime Bryan!" before fading. I shake and let out a loud scream falling to my knees slamming my fists into the ground, i cry there, angry, hurt, and wishing i were more powerful to defeat this monster i created. I remember my friends and leap up turning to them once more only to see their grey, frozen faces some with worry some with anger and i let out another sob "no...." i take a breath

"Here you are alone, and you deserve it

Your friends have turned to stone

And that's on you"

I walk toward Inpu tears falling from my eyes as I stare at his worried eyes, the ones I had only hoped would stare at me in love.

"You had a cause to serve, but did you serve it?

Or did you see yourself in a way that wasn't true?"

I went to take his hand, only to pause remembering this was my fault, my magic did this and they all probably hated me, so I pulled my hand back walking toward Riccaro. Seeing his face I let out another sob tears coming readily seeing his worried face, no longer a smile and no one will see it as he's now stone because of me. Reaching out to Ricarro's face grasping his cheek gently hoping my touch would make him smile and break this sick nightmare.

"This is not your father's fairytale

And no, it's not my mother's fault i failed

So when our story comes to light

Make sure the story that they write goes "once upon a time, a boy tried harder"

Turning to the next person that stands frozen I can't help but let out a soft sob, Xylo... his, worried but angry filled eyes bore into mine i continue not really speaking to him but more about myself.

"Why tell all those lies?

You feel unworthy

Like there isn't solid ground for you to stand"

"But a stack of lies is not a firm foundation

You cannot build a castle on a mountain made of sand"

Walking to Dranne I give him a gentle smile only to let out a sob as his sweet voice and happy smile, even his delicious baked goods would never be seen again from anyone.

"This is not my mother's dark desire

And no, it's not your father's hair on fire"

My hand ruffles his now stone hair as he used to have fire for hair when emotional....

"Turns out it's me who's not awake

So if there's change you wanna may"

I turn away from him, unable to keep looking at his sad face. Walking toward my mansion sensing the Rose was that way and I still had to defeat it.

Leaning against a tree imagining my future with Inpu i whisper softly

"That's how I see my once upon a time

This time"

Upon arrival at my house I find Mario and Kayla they're both looking angry "g-guys?" I stutter out. They turn on me both glaring "well if it isn't the reason we're in this mess" Kayla hisses out and i flinch "i-i'm sorry, b-but please i just need you t-to support me so i can defeat the Rose with a special spell!" Mario snarls "i will never support or help you! You made my life a living nightmare last year! Good luck on your own!" and they both leave. I wince looking at the path they left on.

"Life is not a storybook, but life unfolds in chapters"

I turn toward my home a new fire in my eyes, 'fine if i'm to fight this monster i created alone i'll do it, and i'll make sure everyone is set free.'

"Turn the page and start to make amends"

Memories of the good I've attempted to do this summer to try to make up for last year fly through my mind.

Now rushing toward my home plan to save everyone from my darkness in mind, I feel braver.

Taking flight I quicken my pace to face the Seductive Rose.

Landing on the roof of my house with a thump, eyes ablaze in anger/defiance ready to fight the Rose. It grins at me and we begin to fight.
